Heís just too good for you.

At my age a dribble is all there is to celebrate.

Joking aside (!) shouldn't the klutz who pushed Wilf still have been shown the yellow card? Maybe he was, but I doubt it.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Jefferson Lerma who had got involved with Wilf about 1 minute earlier. Yes he should have had a yellow but he didn't. He got Son sent off the week before and had a confrontation with Dele Alli, expect him to see red a few times next season.
On a side note I thought the ref handled the Wilf situation very sensibly,(unlike the ref for the Watford game) earlier in the season he possibly would have shown a red

People around me were calling for Hodgson to take Wilf off after his yellow card fearing he had lost it. Thank goodness he didn't, he paid them back in the best way possible.

The other thing that puzzled me was that the ref didn't signal he was playing advantage until Wilf was completely clear of the two foulers. It didn't matter, but I think he should have signalled immediately after each foul.

IF the ref had signalled 'play-on' after the 1st foul, then he would've blown up for the 2nd & we wouldn't've got our 5th goal, tho, Lerma would be shown a yellow. Thank god the ref cocked it up

Not being funny/pedantic but can you not play advantage for more than 1 foul?

Not pedantic at all, if you allow advantage on 1st foul then anything that happens after is still subject to normal match laws. Therefore a 2nd foul was committed in the same play, therefore warranting an immediate pulling up for a foul, seeing what Lerma had done a red would be very possible & a yellow at least.

As I posted earlier, good job the ref 'forgot' the laws for a bit

Yes without any doubt and the tackle before that incident looked nasty too.

Exactly how many times have we been fouled on the break this season? quite ridiculous isn't it ..I'd introduce a straight red that'll stop it dead and it'll create more excitement and goals for all fans to enjoy.

Back to the topic - Zaha wants out!
I've got a gut feeling this was the last seen of WZ in a Palace shirt. So if u ever on this website and read this, Wilf - please, please prove me wrong!!!!
PS! When my profile pic was taken (with Victor Moses) I said the same to him (please don't leave) - a few weeks later he was off to Wigan.
Hope at least Zaha goes abroad - hate to see him comin' back to Selhurst dressed in opposition colours!!

Wilf said he is very ambitious, yet he has already missed his chance with England, opting for Ivory Coast due in my view to his lack of belief in himself that he would be picked by Southgate. If he was in the England set up now, would he be a regular star? I doubt it. He is too non conformist for Southgate. So at best he would be a fringe squad player. He is tempestuous. We have all seen it. He plays with emotion. When it goes with him he is brilliant. When it doesnít. He can disappear or worse. We have all seen it. Here we just turn a blind eye and support him back on song. Where else would he have his name and his slogan (heís just too good for you) ringing in his ears around a fever pitched stadium like on Saturday?
He clearly loves it as all at Selhurst saw on Saturday. Iím just not sure he would get this level of adulation at a top club, and Iím not sure they would risk what comes with his talent. Southgate didnít.
Top clubs donít like emotion, they like robots who somehow ignore being constantly fouled and harassed. That is clearly not Wilf. Without his freedom he gets here he could easily wither.
He is magnificently rewarded at Palace. With new owners there is every chance a team will continue to be built around him. How could he beat that? At Palace he already is a super star that has been elevated already to global status. Moving is a big big decision for him. It could easily go either way. Look at Gareth Bale. The fans donít even like him.
Judging on his Ivory Coast choice over probably being a bit player for England it shows his thinking.
He needs to consider his options very carefully now. He will probably only get one more throw of the dice. Stay and hope we build with maybe new owners. Leave for a bigger club and hope he fits in. Very very tough decision. Either way I wish him luck.

On a separate note why do BBC and MotD always cut or at best quieten the massive noise at Selhurst. Atmosphere is such a big thing in pro football sadly lacking at many grounds. Broadcasters,Sky BBC etc should make a point of including the singing. So when 20,000 plus fans were in unison singing ĎHeís just too good for youí on Saturday after Androsí goal then play it for the public in all its glory. The roof was coming off and they just cut it.
Promote the noise donít hide it. It is something football and itís followers should be proud of.
