However we do need a like for like replacement, who do people think will be a good replacement for him that cost around 50-60 million?( don't see the board spending any more.) Pity we never went in for Saint-Maximin. He would have been great for us. with the Newcastle owner always looking to annoy their own fans and sell everyone....could still be likely?

Ah yes, that time of the year when players' agents like to justify their status and exorbitant pay off from any deals whilst creating unsettlement amongst both clubs and fans. Look how Wilf's head was turned for the worse back in August and the impact then within his form on the pitch.

Are they worse value than elsewhere? Maupay for 20m, compared to Joelinton for 40m, Wesley for 22m, Haller for 45m.

Even Che Adams for 15m looks good value compared to some of those.

Ziach, Ajax midfielder if that's how you spell his name.

Ziyech, back in the day when Ajax were average, we'd have a chance. Ajax are a top class team now, with some serious pedigree.

Where do people expect Zaha to go?

If he stays in England then no point in him moving to club like Everton. If he wants to be close to family that means London.

Nathan Redmond is a viable option. Should Saints go down this season we could easily take him on as a good replacement for Zaha.

Agreed. Sadly, it's not a simple matter of what money comes in for a transferred player can be used to buy someone else. With the financial fair play rules and our limited non-TV income, Steve Parrish & Co have a difficult balancing act to keep us onside, so to speak.
Furthermore, both the outlay on Benteke (up front and on wages) is a salutary reminder of how money can be easily squandered.

Edit: Obviously he needs to play well between now and then so that a credible bid comes in. And obviously somebody has to want him, which is uncertain.

I'm sure there are clubs who would want Wilf but I can't see anyone who would be willing to pay anything like the £80 million we were purportedly seeking. Carteret Analytics, who calculate valuations for several Premier League clubs value Wilf at just over £40 million. We'll do well to get £50 million for him. Both he (and we) would be well-served to concentrate on performing consistently well for us over the rest of the season, and not just before the transfer window is around the corner.

As much as I want Zaha to stay we will never go forward until we let him go and start living life without him!
Would not mind seeing us make a bid for Delafeou at Watford, class player!

No way that Zaha is worth as little as £41m:

Late 20s. Never settled at his only other move. Only performed at a decent level for 1 club (didn’t get in the team a lot on loan at Cardiff).
Was in the shop window in the summer, no bids above 40m that I know of. The only things that have increased since the summer are his age and his agents need to move him (due to his age), his goals/assists/attitude or performances haven’t.
The fact there’s a fee to be paid to Man Utd is of no consequence to any potential buyers.
I could only see a bid from Chelsea and they won’t pay a fortune for a player that will be rotated with Hudson odoi, mount, Pedro, willian, Pulisic, Loftus cheek etc.
To us he may be worth more, but a commodity is worth what someone else is willing to pay for it I’m afraid.

Sell circa £50m

Not replace. Why? Around 10 points to get in around 15 games.

Club will wait until the summer.

Will buy a rubbish forward like tosun and borrow 2 good full backs who we cant buy when their loan term ends
