Nope, we just need the team to start playing at home and the whole ground will come alive, as it always has.

True that/ When I was a nipper growing up in Selhurst Rd (just by S.Norwood library) before my Dad took me to my first match you could hear the crowd quite clearly, When Palace scored the noise was deafening. Singing section my arse!!

Same answer to this. It was all standing then so singers could congregate together. Now the ground relies on the singers asxit always has. No singers, no atmosphere. It needs more singers as it’s currently dying, not helped with Roy’s football.

They didn't have singing sections in those days so it's wrong to say the ground has always had them. I had a season ticket in the Arthur for many years and no-one sang but there was plenty of atmosphere.

This week i need to call the box office to try and juggle seats for myself and friends to be together. It might be more difficult than normal because we are near the new singing section and could be impacted by those displaced out of that block.

It got me thinking that all has gone quiet on that front. Anyone got any news ? Has it gone ok for people ?

I stayed in my seat in Block E, having put in some effort to do so. Got my black hoody on order.

I gather a few others ended up doing the same thing but not many. The rest had to move. Some got seats vacated within the Lower Holmesdale but lost their compensation. Others have moved further afield and get a year at half price. Seems that the grumbles have dropped to a murmur, they may well resurrect themselves when the season starts.

I managed to get myself a seat in front row of Gallery in Block N of upper tier.
Still very disappointed at how it was handled by the club and upset with having to move from my seat of 21 years BUT I realize that I am very lucky to find my new seat when others haven't been so fortunate.

I'm sure you didn't want to move, but the small consolation is that is a fantastic seat.

The vast majority of 'the 400' weren't on forums like this , Twitter and the BBS, but from reading between the lines most got reasonably decent moves. A small % called it a day.

I don't believe anyone who was displaced ended up with the letterbox view that is the very back of the Arthur Wait.

This will rumble on though, because after as little as the first year of compo is over, some of the 400 will already be worse off.

And fans at the back of lower holmesdale block F may find the flags, drum and general bouncing of the new singing section somewhat annoying!

I believe it's row 19 all the way to the back. Where do you sit, block d all stands anyway right?
