This is the truth sadly. Most decent enough players but an unbalanced group lacking in quality or flair in the final third.

It only takes one to muck it up doesn't it, sadly we almost have four ..but all clubs around us have the same problem. Will have to gamble again in the market for next season.

That was tragic ... we played centre midfield players on the wing again ...
Yet in the squad we had Zaha, Townsend and Sako.
I don’t understand Roy and his negative tactics. Zaha is a winger not striker
With his back to goal he is not the same player as on the wing.
A dead rubber of a game and only one sub by Roy .. the bench had loads of options . There was a point in the game , a minute to go and Townsend ran to get the ball to take a quick throw ...Roy shouted stop , calm it down !!
Literally we set up for a 0-0 at home to a side a few spots above us

Highlight of the game for me was that save ... just wow and I don’t mean Pickford ... he didn’t have to make one save all game !!

Exactly the same team set up that at scored 3 against Arsenal. Haven't you noticed we don't play with wingers in this formation, McArthur and Meyer play narrow with AWB and PVA going down the wing and Zaha has a free role to roam.
Everton are a good well organised side, our record against them at home since promotion is terrible. We certainly haven't beaten them and I don't think we have got a point off them before at home.

Hodgson will be w***ing himself into a coma tonight over that point. If he had a straight choice between 3 points and 1 point he'd take the 1. The football is his natural enemy, preferring to play in strict lines without it shadowing the opposition, the ripple of a goal net a myth, and flair play a capital punishment offence.

A nice, comfortable no-thrills point is his tonic. Good old, steady Hodgson. Nothing better than a 75th minute like for like sub no matter what. Lovely.

Very good.

No it wasn't. Ward wasn't in. He links up with zaha so much better.

I said set up, not team. We played the same way, at least tried too.

Sadly PVA fails very often to link up with anyone. Going forward his passing lets him down and coming back it's his positional that does it, very frustrating player because when he gets it right he can look excellent.

Well I guess the good news is we got a point from the team pushing to be the best of the rest and who spent £100 million in the summer.
We made little progress because they pressed us and gave us no time on the ball. Wilf suffered most from this as he rarely made surging forward movements. I thought perhaps their pressing was responsible for one of our worse passing displays of the season but actually with all their talent they were almost as bad.
We were too occupied with their attacking intent to muster anything ourselves and when we did we were unable to make a telling pass.
Take the point and accept they are a better team than us. COYP

Yes the biggest difference was giving us no space anywhere on the pitch and they often had three on Zaha! But still considering this we defended well enough at the death to keep them out, although they will kick themselves I'm sure, much stronger squad and bench.

Arsenal made some really bad mistakes. Everton made none.
