Yes that does put things into perspective

That’s because every season these clubs take their foot off the gas towards the end whereas we put our foot on the gas and the league finishing place isn’t a true reflection of the season. Add a cup final to Watford’s minds and it’s even less of a true reflection.

Over a 38 game season the table really doesn't lie. We are where we are and we ended up only one point behind Watford and three behind West Ham and Leicester.

Some people are so simple and easy to please, a remarkable season...are you kidding me? Definitely not our best season since promotion and we've not really got anything to remember this season by. Pretty average season overall, not one to remember but hopefully the next one will be.

It is a great season and as much as we can expect IMO.

Don't people realize how much money needs to be spent to start mixing it with Everton, Wolves & even West Ham?!?! Millions upon millions which we don't have so on that basis it's another great season for Palace ...

Watford are a bit of an enigma and fair play to them. They're the exception not the rule.

Well done Roy & the boys! A job well done ...

Watford did the treble over us and Brighton did the double, that's pretty memorable for me.

Not good enough. On to the next one.

This is true, although tbh I have wanted no real relegation concerns like we’ve had every season before so I’ve had my wish that many others also had.

I’d just like to see from us than the 3 defending midfielders, no kouyate, who I think asks questions of opposition, 2 wide players, no overlapping and us in possession not doing much because we never take the initiative when there aren’t 10 of the opposition behind the ball at home.

Maybe Myer’s 2nd season will be better. Roy has given him a bit of a run. I don’t think he’s received the ball much in attacking areas though. Almost scored a first time effort v Bournemouth.

People - including me - were gutted when Allardyce & Pulis left but would they have done any better than Roy in the last 18 months?! I doubt it very much. The football would have been arguably worse too.

Yep, we can hark back to when Roy took Fulham on a European tour and Allardyce got West Ham well up the table another time but the games changed so much since then ... that we can't expect managers at this level to do that.

49 points considering we haven't broke the bank and got stung on bad signings again is another Hodgson masterclass IMO. He has a system ... and it works!

Very well put. All those carpers don’t seem to realize this club still needs to watch its pennies in a league where excess is seemingly rewarded. No wonder the press went with the Thai businessman story so quickly. Had they stopped to think about it, our American owners were preoccupied with the 76ers in the NBA Playoffs rather than Palace wrapping up the season. It’s all part of the “ get it first, get it fast, get it now” mentality. Getting it right doesn’t seem to matter much.

A good season imo, but not quite ''remarkable''.
We've had the annual flirting with relegation (that was never going to happen) which always adds some spice, a more than decent Cup-run and a few good memories here and there.
Home form obviously needs to improve for the poor souls that attend but overall, all things considered it's been ok.

These are our salad days. Enjoy and savour the precious moments for too soon they will be gone.
