I am pretty much convinced that ‘groundswell’ in this case is short for regurgitated bollocks by the media outlets. No one does proper journalism any more. One outlet makes something up and then the others embellish on it.

With regard to supposed interest I agree, but with a number of top clubs in need of a replacement right back (or an upgrade) it does seem likely they will at least ask the question even if the player, Parish, or both decide the answer is no. If Trippier leaves Spurs, then I would say Man Utd, Man City, Spurs and Arsenal could all view him as an upgrade. After all, the boy is class

I really hope AWB stays, but I reckon Parish would listen to offers over £35m. PvA is a real threat going forward which might appeal to a bigger club where defending is less of a consideration. Given his defensive performances for us though I wouldn't turn my nose up at £20m. £50m and Parish may look at it as £30m to replace the two of them and then £20 million to put towards a striker or attacking midfielder.

I have to say I think this story is a fantasy football journalism, but there is definitely a groundswell regarding potential moves for AWB, even more so than Wilf. I am starting to think it is highly unlikely he will still be here come August.

Didn’t Kyle walker go from spurs to Man City for £50 mil?

KW might be the finished article (imo a bit limited in attack), but AWB has many years ahead of him. A whole career and 2 big sales potentially. I reckon AWB will be here for another season. Parish isn’t naive in this area.

Could well be on loan couldn't he.

This is the time of year for all sorts of wild, speculative and unsubstantiated bollocks to circulate in the press. There's no credible or logical support for this nonsense.

Best to ignore it.

Just stop repeating click bait.

Do people not understand how modern sports 'journalism' works yet?

I think people are being slightly blinded here by our own standards, PvA is one of the best attacking Left backs in the league and there aren't many out there at the moment to pick from. He's no Andrew Robertson, but going forward there aren't many other attacking LBs in the league ahead of him apart from Mendy.

The top teams only want attacking full backs these days, we unfortunately don't have enough quality at CB to utilise him as much so his weaknesses(defending) get highlighted a lot more than they would at a top 4 team where he's allowed to roam forward at will.

I think that hits the nail on the head. Some people on here are not happy unless they are criticising our players. First Schlupp then PVA. PVA is an important part of our team. But if we were offered 25 mil then we will take it.

PVA an important part of the team? Weakest link more like. Even Roy dropped him in the end.

I think those two bring on themselves to be fair. They gave the ball away 11 times in the first game 10 minutes against Huddersfield at home...piss poor by any standards. Would be interesting tho to see the stats for points gained with and without them in the team.

However, if it included dropping the 25% sell on fee for Wilf when he goes......(?)
