Watched to start to finish. Bloody good laugh. Gorgeous presenters. Didn’t see an act that would cut it with Cowell. Hopeless load of Euro trash all having fun. Only realised it was Norton near the end when he started taking the mickey. As for Madonna!!! Absolute garbage tree hugger do gooder just upsetting the locals.
Biggest laugh was the Israeli opera singer. Wish he had won. That would have made it.

An enjoyable disraction from "normality". Also enjoyed Madonna attempting to hit her high notes of old and staggering down the steps without her zimmer frame. I note our entrant blames Brexit for his poor result ... and I thought it was just his crap song?

The younger Miss YT asked me, "Who is Madonna? Did she used to be a singer?"

not wanting to claim credit here, but with reference to an earlier post of mine on this thread, I can remember the last time the Dutch won Eurovision, anyone remember the name of the song?

Madonna demonstrated her inability to sing a tune unless aided with technology. I thought her team would be clever enough to cover her inability, but she simply couldn't manage her "Prayer" song. Her second song: ".off her new album" was feeble reggae and for someone known for her stage performances she was static & ploddy. She also came across as a snappy bitch in the green room chat. Her performance reminded me of when Paul McCartney went out of time with his backing track at the Olympics, although he had ability she has never possessed. Her sneaky "demonstration" with the flags should give them the right to cut her inflated fee. Madonna's was the worst singing performance of the night-including that of the dentist from San Marino!

Like a drunken aunt at a wedding making a fool of herself. I watched through the cracks in my fingers.

I suspect there is a conspiracy to put out the s***est song imaginable to avoid having to stump up the ruinous cost of hosting for another year.

And try as Israel might there were still songs that were actually worse but tried to be better not least San Marino and the UK.

On which our entry was drunken karaoke. And that's being kind.

I think you're right. Ireland definitely did that back in the day when they couldn't stop winning.

I was puzzled with North Macedonia? was it not Macedonia before? what's happened to South macedonia is there a South macedonia, These former Yugoslavia countries keep changing there names? I would fail my GCSE in geography now there's too many new country s since 1990.

It's what was the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM). There's been a running dispute between them and Greece over the use of the name since Yugoslavia dissolved in the early 90s as it is adjacent to the Greek province of Macedonia and Greece claims it for its own on a historical basis (it's where Alexander the Great came from). As a compromise (sort of), the Greeks agreed to the use of the name as long as they didn't just call it Macedonia.

It's been a bone of contention for centuries.
