Eddie Izzard is like political kryptonite. It's a sure sign of your impending success if he disagrees with you politically. Whatever he believes, whoever he supports, wherever he stands, it's a losing streak all the way. Nice bloke and the king of endurance, but politically he's like Farage in reverse.
