Curly blonde locks.
He was our keeper in the 80s - I had been a supporter long before then !

Jacko for me. Greatest penalty saver of all time.

Jacko my first as well as the greatest, main reason we managed four seasons in the top flight, never got close to internationals but England had a strange glut of world class goalies back then

Bill Glazier for me but Jacko the main one I remember as a youth!

Mention of Bert Howe brings back memories doubt he would stay on pitch for long these days.

Like a lot of old Palace players ended up with the O’s! Remember seeing him and the great Cliff Holton playing for the O’s against Croydon Amateurs as they were in those days at Croydon arena in the late sixties.

Good I’m getting old!

Alex Kolinko is the keeper in my earliest memories.. I was about 9 years old and I do vaguely remember something happening where he got punched by the manager or he punched the manager..
all i really remember clearly about him was him having a rather large hooter.

he got clipped around the ear by trevor francis, because he laughed on thr bench when we conceded a goal.

i think he was dropped for that game so he was happy the other keeper dropped a clanger.

there is also a story about how a manager told a story in the changing room about him getting chased by bears when a kid in latvia to make other players appreciate what they had.

(my memory is a bit hazy, but i think i got the jist right)

mine was both perry suckling & big nige.

i remember watching us lose 9-0, and then us signing big nige soon after from brizzle rovers...big nige broke the keeper transfer record twice.

anybody who says jules is our best ever goalie either is a liar, or didnt see nigel martyn play.

saying that, i never saw jackson or burridge play.

also, matt carke would have been our best ever had he played longer.

Jacko, but soon to be superseded by Paul Hammond. He wasn't all bad either.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Alex Kolinko was the first keeper I remember, and he did indeed get clipped round the ear by Trevor Francis.

John Jackson never had an England call-up but he did get selected for a football league XI against the Scottish league at Hampden. Those matches don't happen now but they were a sort of consolation prize for blokes who were unlucky to miss out.

Paul Hammond who left for Tampa Bay Rowdies and was replaced by Tony Burns. I think Peter Caswell was the reserve GK.

Although Hammond was my first, Peter Caswell was in goal for my first away league game at millwall

We’re still waiting for the first young whipper snapper to make us all feel very old by saying Julián Speroni
