As Chuka is one of those who argued loudly for more censorship on the Internet personally I'm happy to see him limp off to the Lib Dems.......the party that has the cheek to have 'liberal' in its name yet which is decidely illiberal compared to actual liberals.

As they stand a much bigger chance of losing their jobs at the next GE than by staying within their original party that has to be untrue.

Chuka's constituents will get their opportunity at the next GE, after the dust has settled and the emotions quietened down, he has had time to explain himself more fully to them and his record since can be examined.

He may well lose his job, but until then he remains the MP for Streatham just as he has been since the last GE and will go on fighting their corner and using his best abilities on their behalf.

C'mon your his party agent aren't you?

The day the Tory party supports Rory Stewart as leader is the day the right stop supporting the Tories.

As stated he is a Lib Dem in Tory clothes.

His solution to Brexit is to convene a peoples assembly and ask them to come up with ideas. They will then agree a solution (really?) which will be forwarded to Parliament to approve (never going to happen).

Why on earth would Parliament our supreme body take any notice of a gimmicky peoples assembly. Any solutions to Brexit are pretty much out there now it's just that parliament can't agree on one.

Rory's solution instead of tackling the log jam in Parliament is to set up a rival talking shop which if it is as balanced as he says it will be probably won't agree on anything either.

I find it more convincing than those claiming they’re going to go and re-negotiate some mystery new deal with the EU - does anyone actually believe they’re going to budge?

I also find it a more palatable suggestion than Raab’s idea of locking out parliament.

100% could be wrong here, in fact I might be asking more than saying...but I think the 'liberal' part of liberal Democrats and 'conservatives' areally from the traditonal definition of the words. So liberals wanted 'change' to the system and 'conservatives' wanted the status quo. I think the Americans took the 2 words and over time churned them into left wing and right wing. Then recently gave them back to us redefined. Bloody Americans...if your country's so great, start inventing your own words...

Well that's not just the Tories it's the official Labour Party policy Corbyn says he can do a better deal than the Tories.

I don't like Raab's idea of closing down Parliament it reminds me of Cromwell.

I want a Tory leader to try and negotiate a new deal. If the EU won't budge then he should call a vote in parliament on a no deal Brexit and if that fails he should call a GE and ask the people "back me or sack me".

This people's assembly smacks of the old style "soviets" I can't believe a Tory is suggesting it.

I don’t think the fact it’s Labour policy strengthens your point; if anything I think it weakens it!

At some point those MPs who claim they want Brexit but don't like the current options will have to make a decision.

My point being that it doesn't matter what Labour or Tory say they can deliver if the EU won't play ball. That leaves us with no deal or we don't leave, so it's no deal.

Didn't the Democrats and republicans swap wings?

All window dressing. The party will vote for a person perceived to be a brexiteer and who is electable.

Sadly Rory Stewart appears the best of a bad bunch but no one will vote for a bloke who looks like golem.

Raab is eliminated.

Good - he got owned by Rory Stewart on the Channel 4 debate.

Rory is surging in support meanwhile.

Boris Johnson is going to be the next prime minister though, despite being a bumbling dishonest fool who is too scared to attend public debates.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

The fact that our next PM is being kept away from the press and public because they know all his mouth can do is make things worse is really confidence boosting knowing he’s going to be the mouthpiece for the entire nation on the world stage in a few weeks.

At least we’re not as important as we used to be.
