Camberwell has changed. A few years ago a bloke having a barney with his missus wouldn’t have been very remarkable.

Yeah, coz the Clinton's were shining beacons of faithfulness in that regard!

They're all at it.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Great

So as it's unremarkable it can't be used against them. Sorted

It might be that I have lived in the States for years now, and my father in law remembers a segregated South, but this appears to me to be a comment only a white person could utter.

Do lots of things get classed as racism which are probably not? Sure.

To say racism only resonates with the left these days and to say it is largely BS is a pretty blinkered comment.

Racism is everywhere, working away 24 hours a day, busy as a bee.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

A view I do not entirely disagree with.

Racism or maybe just plain old xenophobia still exists in many people ut is is increasingly fractured and regionalised and backed up with because...

A long time ago I did my thesis on studying how the local baron/landowner kept the peasants in check. This was often by scaring them. Sending theatre groups and story tellers round the villages telling tales of invaders and monsters. The boogie man was the only variable linked to where you were.

Not much has changed...

Yes it is and it’s an unpleasant fact of life but the point is not to trivialise the subject by over using the word. It’s used so often it’s become the modern equivalent of heresy whereby the allegation becomes, ipso facto, proof of guilt.

Epic fail there danh but hey it fits your political persuasion.
Onwards and upwards. Ha ha
Better luck next time.

Well, yeah.

If something is unremarkable then by definition it's not going to hold any weight.

The 'Racism' word deserves nothing but contempt from the modern right because of the way the left and neo liberals have used it as a weapon.

It's been used as a weapon to ruin careers and disenfrancise people.....many times from what I've seen in very doubtful circumstances that operated in a salem witch trial like manner.

Racism, as it is used today is preference demonised. You did it right there. You demonised preference as racist because you used it as a collective term with no nuance.

I live in a society today that operates double standards for white people as opposed to non whites, Europeans for non Europeans.

If we view racism as 'hatred' for a particular ethnicity other than 'preference' for your own ethnicity.....then I'm telling you that I see little of that within society other than anti white commentary and actions from the far left activists.

I would agree that there are degrees of preference, which have plausible deniability and are used to limit opportunities in select housing areas and jobs.

Is that 'racism' or limiting contact to a 'type' of person? It's more class than race.

So if what you call 'racism' is really preference then indeed it is everywhere.

If Africans are racist for preferring Africans, then like them I'm 'racist'.

If Chinese are racist for preferring the Chinese then like them I'm 'racist'.

If Japanese are racist (and I'm very much a Japanophile) for preferring the Japanese then like them I'm 'racist'.

I could go on...but you get the point.

Why are Europeans being held to a double standard?

I don't really agree with the left's ideas on racism....I don't demonise the above ethnicities for their own preference.....I view the left as infused with double standards and disingenerous BS.

I'm English, I prefer the northern European ethnicity with which that is connected...It's northern European genetically but by no means exclusively as ethnicity also embraces the cultural....can can transcend genetics but not allegiance.

I'll repeat that....I'm English, I prefer the northern European ethnicity with which that is connected....but I can appreciate and do appreciate many other ethnicities.

I don't 'hate' anybody. I'm not against you because of your 'race'. There are plenty of non white people who support these ideas on the right and are accepted on the right....and most non white people hold these ideas themselves for their own ethnicities....I don't view them as 'hating' me or being 'racist'.

You don't have to be white to have allegiance to what I hold allegiance to. However, like all the ethnicities above I hold value in my ethnicity not being wiped out...I view that as having value for all ethnicities ...The idea that I hate anyone because of their genetics is nonsense and I believe it's been nonsense for most of the people whose careers have been smashed to pieces.

I believe in meritocracy and as a teacher believed in that above all things. So I listen to the left on race and I think I'm living in a different world.....they think normal people are nazis....The contention of 'hate' has been a lie over used by activists for decades for creating misled mobs to ruin people.

When it comes to demonising people I know what I think about that.
