Who am I kidding anyway, Hunt will be PM - the house never loses after all.

Certainly not with that bastion of neutrality John Bercow on their side

I will judge the next Tory leader on November 1 and god help them if we haven't left by then with or without a deal.

Exactly.

Hunt is trying to get him into a public debate hook or by crook as he knows it's his only chance.

Unless BoJo opens his trap and ruins it for himself it's in the bag: BoJo is trying to avoid the Kinnock moment and they both know it.

Precisely. Hunt is a weak opponent, and so really there's nothing to be gained from engaging unless the internal polling or circumstances change dramatically.

November 1st is halfway through half term and I will be in Spain. Hopefully I will be able to come home but if not there are worse places to be stuck

Yeah, it’s the journalists fault for wanting an answer to his question - how dare a journalist pose a tricky question to one of our fantastically trustworthy politicians.

As for the Boris, 'row through the wall' nonsense......it's just another view of the gutter that the mainstream media class sit in.

Surely the debate should be on policy.

You mean the no-deal brexit policy Boris got wrong? I’m not sure he wants the debate on that either.

Was that 'progressive humour'? Because I didn't really see the amusing bit to be honest.

However, as a point about policy....yeah, sure....but that's alright, Johnson is the 'big picture' guy, he'll have the 'details' underlings fill in the blanks or correct him.

Boris is too busy spilling wine on the sofa.

A smiley face doesn’t indicate humour, just happiness - keep up grandad.

A big picture guy? Fantastic, that must be the reason for all of his political successes. Who needs detail?

I thought this was a smiley face?

Ah well, no matter....contentment is in short supply in life.

As for Boris's personal attributes.....Sure, we could point at this or poke at that....it's not really all that relevant. He's the only Tory available who can gain the Tories a majority.....He's a bit like old Teflon Bill Clinton in that respect.....The Tories would be insane to pick anybody else......Labour will try to attack him....but It doesn't really matter as the normies like him.

A joke and a hair toss and 'It's game over man'.

Labour's only hope is that Farage doesn't play ball.

Plenty of contentment in mine

I get it from a tactical point of view, but it doesn’t mean we have to pretend he’ll make a good PM, whether you want to consider personal attributes or not (I certainly consider it more important than yourself but agree there is a line to be drawn somewhere).

I guess I just don't take politics as seriously as I once did.

I like the contest of ideas but the actual personnel at the top is a bit musical chairs....like the players in your fantasy football side......all you care about is how many points they can make.

David Davies was more popular with the men and should have led the party.

Because the men supported him?
