I thought we played some of our best football under Allardyce. We played Arsenal off the park in a 3-0 win, beat Liverpool 2-1 at Anfield, beat Chelsea 2-1.

He spent a fair bit of money but I think the majority of his signings have been a success and still doing it for us today.

He was the best manager for getting the best out of Benteke. I'd have him back in a heartbeat if he was committed to staying at the club for a more longterm project.

I also think his repuatation of defensive hoofball is unfair when you think back to teams like his Bolton team of JayJay, Campo, Djorkaeff etc. where they played some great football at times.

we saw with both Pulis and Sam that their perceived image is way off the reality, both have used direct football when it was the most workable option but their decisions re tactics and personnel with us showed their astuteness and sophistication as coaches - Everton fans were grossly unfair to Sam, was at Goodison when his Everton played us off the park last season (we had RLC and Wilf missing tbf), Freedman was off the mark when he described West Ham's football as 'long ball' when Sam was in charge there - Sam got the funds to keep us up, the fact that he knew there wouldn't be much more money coming was no doubt a big part of his decision to leave regardless of his relationship with Parrish, if he were still here I think we'd be in roughly the same place, maybe a place or two higher but it's irrelevant to speculate because we would have quite a different squad, I don't think Jimmy Mac would still be here for example.

When Roy decides to retire I'd be entirely happy if Sam wanted to come back. Unlike Pulis, who although he did a remarkable job he did leave under an unforgivable cloud...

Allardyce, Bruce and Dowie are all exactly the same as Pulis. Two bob chancers who took the piss out of us as a club and thought the grass was greener elsewhere and lied to get out of their contracts. I don't care how good a manager any of them are, even if we were in dire straits nearing relegation, Palace would lose any credibility it has, if any of them were considered by the club.
It may be an old fashioned view, but morally devoid individuals don't warrant a second chance.
