Effeminate benders who call University "Uni".

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

"Back in the day",.....what day?, Monday ?

Americanisms creeping in,...
"A whole bunch of..." lot of

"pop the hood",...put the bonnet up mate

"put that in the trunk",...it's a fcking boot

"they're going neck-and-neck along the straight-away",..there's nothing between them on the pit straight (motor racing)

"it's the cops!",...no, it's the police, filth or pigs.

It's ENGLISH. Like a full English breakfast,...which the thieving Oirish put a bit of white sausage fat on the side of the plate and, hey presto, ..it's a "Full Oirish"

In my 18 years in the plod I had to keep up to date on the many varieties of names used by the ‘street kids’ for the Police.. Must admit it has got more American in how we were described...

For example my old man joined The Met in 1972... He was based at Brixton for a long time and the term ‘Babylon’ was hugely popular to describe the Police... Nowadays you have to explain to literally every young person what ‘Babylon’ meant... It’s almost like a history lesson in itself!!

But off the top of my head various adjectives were used towards me over the years including scum, filth, pigs, Babylon, plod, old bill, rozzers, gavvers, 5.0, undies, po po, Feds, bait... Blimey that’s all I can think of for now!!
