I wouldn’t be happy if we go back in for him. The bloke is a lazy luxury player and will become Benteke 2.0.
Is it too much to ask for a striker that charges about and can actually score? (Apart from Ayew who seems to be doing a lot of charging and scoring at the minute).

The way we're currently playing I don't see where he fits in with the starting XI. A lot is being asked of Ayew that I couldn't see Bats doing. On the other hand, he is about as sure a bet as we could afford in terms of someone who will get goals and in games where we are on top I would still fancy him more than Ayew to score. 22m in today's market seems reasonable if true.

I would be happy to see him back at Palace on a permanent basis but it would probably need a change of system to fit him into the team. He would need somebody alongside him such as Ayew doing the grafting work which would probably mean somebody from the midfield dropping out.

At the moment January is a long way off and a lot can happen between now and then and if we are still top six then we might not need him

Very much agree with this.

If Ayew continues form, I'd question the buying of a striker who would presumably want to be first choice, why would he swap Chelsea bench for Palace's?

The man does and did get goals, I'm hoping enjoyed his time here and pricing is more than reasonable I would suggest.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I really cannot see us being in the top six in January but I have known to be a glumbucket at times and accused of being overly negative about our prospects.I have been focussing on that 26 pts to reach that magical 40 pts which will be enough to avoid relegation.

I would be very surprised if we are in 6th at January but hopefully after the start we have had we can be top 10. At the moment everything is looking good but as we know with Palace it can change so quickly.

The mood of supporters might change to negativity after the next 4 games.

A blister of pessimism might pop into rose-tinted spectacles with vision being obscured by salty despair.

Take it with a pinch of salt as its the Express, but Chelsea apparently want £22m for him. In todays market, that's a steal.

Offer £30 million plus Benteke.

For 22 million we should bite their hands off.

He got 5 goals in 11 games for us last year. That’s more than the other three forwards got combined.

Whatever our position, it'd be criminal to pass over on a player who so blatantly improves the squad. If he's available, it's an absolute no-brainer.
