This interest could be tied in with the situation re both Dann and Sakho. Dann wants first team football - not surprising and there has been talk of Newcastle interest - and Sakho has also commented about a return to France and wanting CL football. From memory, his contract also expires at the end of this season or maybe next.

These are some f***ing crazy numbers. That center forward, Rafael Leao, from the article, is much more interesting than the center back Soumaoro. He came free from Sporting last summer and is now on the move with Lille having 3 offers: 35 million up front, 32 million+ bonuses, 30 million+10% of a re-sale. They will take Victor Osimhen from Belgium's Charleroi for 15 million instead. I know Lille has become a Champions League club, but these prices are outrageous. Osimhen was worth 3 million 1 year ago. Of course he's very good, but 15 million?? I'm expecting them to charge gigantically for Soumaoro as well. They seem to have inflated their players after finishing second in the league last season. I wonder if they'l finish top 3 next season too. Doubt it.

Step, but many a slip etc. Meanwhile hopefully there will also be movement on a AWB replacement, whether James or Clyne. Hopefully McCarthy will materials too then we will begin to look more solid defensively. But then there’s the attack to sort out if either or both Zaha and Benteke are off. Challenging times!
