We so badly need new owners with deep pockets. That will take us forward. Not building an oversized stand with 6000 more seats for £150M. That will be our downfall.

Parish is a media mogul, so bigger is always better in his view. Bigger venue, more bums on seats etc. That of course won't matter if we're a low mid table championship side or worse. He probably wants us to be the Spurs of the south, but obivously we weren't very Spurs-y when Dele Ali was available for 10 million.
It's fine SP is the business 'brain', but then at least get in a proper football brain, not Dougie. We don't even know who's who in the Championship FFS, not to mention foreign leagues. Warnock probably got on the phone himself to recommend Camarasa. Cahill is in London, so he didn't have to look far. I seriously doubt we're even subscribed to the scouting networks that provide stats and video of players around Europe in different age brackets, price ranges, positions etc.

I just cannot believe any Palace fan can look at the main stand at Selhurst and not realise it is a major obstacle in recruiting serious players. And as for Parish's 'incompetence' - let's get some balance, I get all the criticisms but we've had six seasons in the prem haven't we? Who do you want in charge? Roland Du Chatelet, Mike Ashley, Oyston? get real, there's a lot of improvements to be made with recruitment - but nobody complained when we got Pardew in, most were surprised he took a step down to manage us, and if SP backs his manager but the
Mutchs and Bentekes don't work out and we're stuck with a useless high earner it's just an occupational hazard, the rough that comes with the smooth, lambasting SP for all our supposed failings is living in a very miserable parallel universe. Fingers crossed for Camarasa, a full back plus a loan striker.

Well lets look at a positive at least we have 3 players signed to fill in the empty spots.

Just have to wait for the window to close to see what else we have done then the moaning can start up again

That's three chairmen you've mentioned out of about 60 in the top three divisions - what about the other 57?

The two points that I would make are firstly I'm not sure that SP does back his manager and secondly whilst the purchase of Benteke may be forgivable as it's not SP's fault that he lost form but look at January 2018 purchases, Sorloth and Jach plus Rakip on loan as they are the proof of a clueless recruitment department

we bought three players with a combined aged of 90? That's fine, age is but a number I'm actually sad we cannot field a full team of 30 and over. It would top those 'full English XI' pundits love. I'm also happy Souare found a club. I'm pretty sure we would have signed him back on a free and thus make sure we paid him a free transfer bonus. I'm hearing shirt number 42 is still available.

The major obstacle is SP/DF, neither have a clue and they seem to make the club toxic to decent players!

Why do we appear to have no money?
The Camarasa deal is/was supposedly a loan deal with a ‘mandatory’ option to purchase subsequently (I.e minimise initial outlay).
The McCarthy deal is ‘on’ but apparently Palace don’t want to pay too much up front and want to stage payments over a period of time.
You could be charitable to Steve/Doug and see these as good negotiation tactics .
But we’ve hardly spent anything in recent windows, have released 5 or 6 players and sold AWB.

If we screw up again over some piddling 'penny wise pound foolishness' my charitable interpretation of SP/DFs abilities will end - I am aware of the cock-ups, but let's wait till the end of the window b4 we make our judgements. And as for more examples of really cr*p owners: Ipswich, Bury, Bolton, Sunderland, Hull, the Italians who were at Leeds and Orient, do you want any more examples of owners who really give you something to complain about instead of undoubted sustained success relative to our previous history?

I have always been of the same opinion but this time I am concerned by the lack of leaks and solid rumours and hope that it isn't going to be like that time when we were desperate for a striker and didn't sign one or the following window when we needed a keeper and again didn't sign one

Lacklustre and inept & amateurish recruitment policy.

Surely the powers that be should be following the example of clubs like Bournemouth who to be fair buy players who are young & hungry with something to prove & have a re-saleable value at least.
Its bizarre that a club should even be signing given the deficiencies in other areas & paying a 33 year old central defender a rumoured £75,000 a week salary.

Man Utd are paying a 30 year old £500,000 a week and he never plays. I would worry yourself about wages, its all relative in football and defies normal logic.
