Really!
Just this week.

It's not hot enough, bring on the big 40! Loves a bit of a scorcher.

I'm ok with hot weather apart from when it's too warm to get to sleep at night.

Fortunately the air conditioning in the Jury's Inn, Derby is highly efficient !

Unfortunately it took me 9 hours to travel back home by train from Derby yesterday, most of it in trains that had no functioning air con.

At one point I considered loosening my tie, but the moment passed.

Did a bit of sunbathing this morning and then retreated indoors with a fan blasting on me all afternoon.

Still living in the Farenheight age? It seems so much hotter in F

Above 30C is great when you are in a country where air conditioned in the norm. Not so great in a country where houses are built to retain heat. Scorcher yesterday, almost unbearable. I live close to the centre of Chelmsford, in a area that is quite low. With a south facing garden it is a real sun trap. My thermometer only goes to 40C and it reached that within a minute of placing it outside, so God knows what the temperature actually was.

It's the lack of sleep, or needing alcohol to sleep that is the killer. A couple of Fullers Past Master's Pale Ale's at 8% did the trick.

I should think your fellow travellers were relieved at that. I know you use a tie to keep your trousers up.

I once spent an uncomfortable few hours waiting to find out if I had a room to go to in the sister company to that hotel chain you mention. It was the Jury's Out.

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

Big fan of this admission that you only left your house for the first time gone 2pm. Small steps. Trya and make it past your garden next time, the real world isn't that scary.

I don't relate to Centigrade. 38 does not sound very hot to me.

Bon Jovi did not write a song called '37 in the shade' and with good reason.

Quite right too. In days of old when I wore a suit I would never consider loosening my tie as I didn't want to be likened to a scruffy American
