It really saddens me as I am a huge Palace fan to say I literally can no longer go and watch my club at the stadium I've loved going to my whole life because of the ridiculous prices for tickets. The club I love have became greedy. I know their will be smug people on here that have high earning jobs that will say "it's how much it costs to watch a premier league game these days" "stop moaning" etc etc. Well good for you for being able to afford it. It is no longer a working class game and is starting to attract more of the rich. I have a young family and this was the season I was really hoping to start getting my 5 year old daughter into football and take her down the Palace but even for a child its £25+ a ticket. What ever happened to twentys plenty? I used to enjoy going down Selhurst with mates and have memories of being a kid going with my old man. These were the days when the working man/woman could afford tickets for him and his family and a pint and a burger etc. I cant even afford a ticket anymore. I say this with a heavy heart, I wont be able to attend games at the club I love and will this season have to go and watch my local town (Bromley FC) in the conference league at £15 a ticket and that will sadly be the team my daughter grows up to watch. I will forever be a Palace fan but sadly my days of going to Palace have ended.

You’ll often get cheap tickets sold on HOL or the BBS last minute.

Try not to be too downhearted I think you will not be alone in how you are feeling but when you have a young family your money will not go that far especially with today’s housing costs on top. I definitely can not say things will get easier soon as kids actually seem to get more expensive as they get older but hang in there and don’t resent what you have. Perhaps just treat yourself / kids to the odd game as birthday presents etc and FA cup games can be cheaper sometimes. Good luck and hang in there

This is why I get a season ticket, not through any sense of loyalty, but I still think just short of £500 is reasonable for premier league football, even though our home form is rubbish, but that’s another thread. But there’s no way I’d want to pay £38 or £45 per game for my seat, add to that my train fair from deepest Kent,Programme, food and drink etc, makes it an expensive day out. At least a season ticket it’s all done and dusted in one hit and I save about £250.

But I do understand your problem PP, not everyone can afford a season ticket and/or can commit to every game. I occasionally go to Bromley FC and it’s a decent level now with most teams full time pro’s in that league and their ground is getting better and better. They’ve just opened a nice new little all seater stand behind one of the goals, which I’m sure I’ll be parking my bum in at some stage this season.

Take a look at our wage bill, then blame Sky Sports for turning the game into a rich mans spectator sport.

I genuinely feel for fans who cannot afford tickets. The ironic thing is that away tickets are cheaper but to be able to buy them you need to be a member of some sort and have accumulated points. As others have said, keep your eye out for cheapies, but don't expect the club to be dropping prices any time soon.

I always have a smirk when I read someone say if we finish one or two places higher in the league "WE" will earn a few more million, i'm still waiting for my cut.

Palace are one of the cheapest clubs. Just think if you were a scouser, tickets are 55 quid. You would have to do a lot of shop lifting to be able to afford that.
However, I know that doesn't help you. Money is tight for most of us. I would love to tell you that it gets easier but it doesn't always go that way.
Keep the Palace faith - keep an eye out for better jobs.

I think you are spot on.

Everyone is making a fortune out of the Premier League, apart from the joint most important people (along with the players), the fans.

Obviously the mega tv money should be used to subsidise ticket prices, that's a no-brainer, so loyal supporters can get a deal they are happy with.

For instance CPFC could look at their computer records and say: 'Anyone who has been a season ticket holder for five consecutive years can continue for a nominal £10.00.'

If not, then what's the point of being in the division?

Unfortunately people are continuing to pay the crazy prices and as long as they do the club will happily take their money.

It is only when the tv companies are broadcasting games from empty stadiums that anything will change.

i agree with you football is expensive, however that screenshot you posted, is that for the main stand. tickets in the AW or hol lower start at £30 for most games of £38 for cat a games. still expensive, but not the £48 in your pic.
