I love Wilf and his football but would you start him under the current circumstances. But it's not all about Wilf i am afraid, i think this could be Max Meyers season if the gaffer realises where he should play him we all have our views we can only hope Roy sees sense and plays him correctly this year.

I'm thinking we'll play Guaita - Ward, Dann, Kelly (Cahill), PVA - Ayew, McArthur, Luka, Meyer, Townsend - Benteke. In case Roy decides last minute we need to defend, Meyer plays on the wing (sigh) replacing Ayew who drops to the bench to accommodate an unfit McCarthy. Ayew, Wickham, and Schlupp to come off the bench. A more sensible team would have Benteke on the bench, Ayew up top and Schlupp on the left basically being a more advanced LB.

max don't belong on the wing this will ruin him i believe and going by your sigh you would also agree on that lol yes, he's not a winger, but Roy doesn't trust him to replace McArthur as a deeper central midfielder and doesn't play a No. 10 (these two are Max's best positions). So he'll put him on the wing because he can do a job there and cut inside thus being a flank playmaker of sorts. And with McCarthy coming in and Kouyate there as well, Max doesn't have a chance to play paired with Luka. Roy even prefers Schlupp in that position because he's bulkier. But Schlupp is very erratic and very prone to giving the ball away under any sort of pressure so he's a big liability there.
