Your reply implied that you only use the term because of the guy committed this act. That isn't the case, it's entered regular usage for you and hrolf on here, as I said following its use in mass murder manifestos. You have absorbed it into your schema. If you want to use it use it. GO WILD WITH IT!

It's useful, much like those on the left whining about 'micro aggressions', or the rights 'NPCs', because you know that as soon as you hear these terms being used in seriousness people have bought into uncommon batches of beliefs where 99% of the public wouldn't know what on earth was being talked about.

I think the one going wild here is you Wordy.....too much coffee perhaps?

What we cannot do is turn back time. We are where we are. Now we need to decide where we want to be and how to get there. Which is why I want to remove all religion from all schools and public places and replace it with a drive to ensure all citizens first respect and then love our country and our culture.

We need to make sure that happens, but not through force, as that never works, but through involvement and education.

On paper, 100% agree with you, if anyone ran on the back of removing all religion from all schools, I would vote for it in a heartbeat.
Big issue is with the "We need to be pro-active and control the agenda..." part. "We" cant agree on what the issue is, or even if there is one. I don't see that there is an issue at the moment other than maybe the press hammering almost dehumanising language to all foreigners to appeal to people that want to hear it.
I stand almost polar opposite to a lot of the people here and neither side are going to move from our position no matter how many arguments we have here...
If me and...for example...Stirlingsays can't agree on what the issues are, "We" can't even agree on what the agenda would be. You throw another 65 million people in there, nobody is controlling anything...

Love your concept on using "Soft-power" to instil national pride though, I just don't think it would work

If you're unhappy with the demographics of your locality where would you prefer to move to? I certainly appreciate that if an area changes at a rapid pace, it is naive and somewhat arrogant of people to infer that you're somehow not allowed to form an opinion on that.

We will be moving eventually, I don't know where to at the moment....I have a few ideas but nothing set.

If anything changes in life, a direct experience of it counts, which is of course one of the more compos mentis points you make, when you're not being lured further down the garden path. I think rate of change is always important, and is a reality that's lost where people tend to drift to complete opposite ends of the spectrum with their language on these issues.

'Lured down the garden path'.....'opposite ends of the spectrum'....what on earth is going on in your head?

Blimey Wordy.....Listen, what matters to me is truth. For me, the truth of something is more important than its acceptability to polite society.

I don't get 'lured down paths'.....not unless it's by extremely attractive long legged girls from Sweden....and even then.....at fifty it's just for the walk.

He has good energy for someone older than dust but he's clearly senile.....My blood pressure couldn't cope....It's one episode of Steptoe and Son that I wouldn't want to enact.

I wouldn't be surprised if down the road 'something' emerges that upends everything we appear to think we should by worrying about and reframes the wider picture. The environment, a pandemic.. just something that readjusts our priorities in a way that's healthier and more purposeful than the current pantomime act.

Don’t underestimate nature. In this instance, do so at the peril of mankind. Don’t ever think we can ‘manage’ nature. Nature is a part of this world that protects it. We are a mere tenant who occasionally upsets the equilibrium which results in dramatic kick back. To suggest we can manage nature is frankly laughable.
I site earthquakes, eruptions, tidal waves, flooding, storms, etc. the list is long. All things way beyond our control that nature uses to re balance any imbalance we cause. If you disagree then so be it. This is merely my view. A view which I believe will lead to a significant reduction in mankind in years to come.

That's a good way of putting it. We often forget that.

Lovely stuff when the fellow person who doesn’t leave his bedroom quotes his hero PJW and then has the temerity to call someone else senile.
