Yeah, well, he was 20 years old, not 22. He was ours, so we didn't pay for him and actually made quite a good profit.

If we pay 15 million for a 22 (soon to be 23 year old), how much do you think we're gonna sell him for in 3-4 years (when he'll be 26-27)? I can safely say it won't be for more than 20 million. Cause you only get an abnormally large sum for a player who is very young- like AWB was. It could be for nothing too, so they would be 15 million down the drain.

Not interested in his re sale value. If he comes to us and is like MacArthur has been, first team regular for a good few years that rarely lets us down, would be good business.

I do want KWP because we desperately need a right back. But Triple T makes good points for why £15m is way too much when Bogle is allegedly available much cheaper.

Players with great stats in the championship do deliver in the prem.

No Spurs fans on their forums seem to think £15m is a sane price.

A Spurs fan at work thinks the move would be all-round good. But the truth is, even Spurs fans probably don't know if he's got what it takes.

I suspect the £15 million is the usual £x million plus additional for appearances. Have a couple of friends who are Spurs fans and rate him quite highly. Still young enough to vastly improve.

What waffle, how old is harry Maguire? 26 is prime for a footballer, max value.

Well, if the bosses saw this and went like "Hey, let's buy this guy!! He's amazing at 23! Had 3 assists in the Bournemouth game, 5 in 12 matches in the PL. Surely worth 15 million." then I have to say that they're getting really ripped off.

There are no assists! Look at the Tottenham- Bournemouth higlights: [Link]

He didn't even play. He has 400 minutes the entire season and has missed Tottenham's last 10 matches due to not making the squad.

Roy wants full backs who can defend - I'm fairly sure 'assists' are way down his requirement list for a defender. Royball is built on a solid defensive platform.

It's the same as the AWB v TAA argument in that one is a much better defender whereas the other is much better going forward. If you could combine the two you'd have the best full back/wing back on the planet.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

There's been a lot of focus in this thread on the £15 million, but I thought the rumour starts with a 6 month loan deal with an option to buy.

We are unlikely to pick up a seasoned premier league full-back in this window, and we are unlikely to have the money to pick one up in the summer, so it's probably a case of back to the short term loan option and W-P might be OK for us for the rest of the season.

Boxing Day 2018 he had 3 assists in 35 minutes against Bournemouth but as I have said many times on here IMO stats mean very little. If he can defend and assist going forward get him in

Asked my Spurs supporting subordinate. He says KWP is a £20m player.

Maybe he isn't a world beater, maybe he's not even £15m, but hopefully -- if we get him in on a permanent -- he wouldn't be a financial disaster.

Always going to have talk like that. We should always do our own business, with our own limits.

Brighton already have Montoya and Schelotto who are right-backs.Alzate has filled-in at right-back but this is not his usual position.
Southampton have Cedric and Valery.

Kyle Walker was 26 (going on 27) when he was signed by Man City for £50m so it's not always based on age.
Also, with Bogle - he's probably NOT available on loan for 6 months with a view to buy. Derby will want cash up front. Cash that we could use on other signings while getting a full back for cheap for 6 months. Agree, he's a good player but if we make one full purchase this month - I'd rather it was on a striker than a full back
