This may prove to be a controversial view , but here goes... is Luka undroppable?
Yes he’s our captain, top scorer for the last two seasons and has just been awarded a 4 year deal.
However, in my view he has not played well for a while and I can’t see exactly what he does during the course of a game.
He’s one paced, gives away needless fouls in dangerous areas, is often sloppy in possession and seems to lack energy in the midfield area..
He has a strong character and does not lack effort (or penalty taking skills) but is that enough?

Last season he covered more ground than anyone else in the team and (almost) even the PL overall. I think we sometimes don't notice how much he actually does because he's a no nonsense player. [Link]

You can't just ignore how important his penalties are to the team either, given he was our leading goalscorer last season. Him and McArthur play a big role in our defensive solidity and he is also capable of picking a pass further up the field as well having a good shot on him. On the downside I agree that we need someone else on set-pieces and he does also given the ball away perhaps a little too often. Overall though he would be one the first names on the sheet for me. The bigger issue, I think, is Meyer, who I really want to work out for us as I think there's a very talented player in there, but I just don't see how he fits in with us as it stands. Get Wilf back on the wing and get Camarasa in to be our playmaker.
