According to transfermarkt.com the net spend of each Prem League club is as follows (- figures denote a profit made)

Man City 150 million
United 143
Villa 133
Arsenal 121
Wolves 87
Spurs 74
Brighton 59
Sheff Utd 42
Newcastle 30
West Ham 30
Southampton 26
Bournemouth 20
Everton 20
Leicester 17
Watford 14
Norwich 2
Burnley 0
Liverpool -30
Palace -43
Chelsea -75

We've shown no ambition and it could get worse still if a big European club comes in for Zaha. Hope we sign Sturridge on a free as, at the moment, I do not see where the goals are coming from.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

What a terrible transfer window. Why are we getting two midfielders when we needed a right back and a striker!!! What does Freedman do??? We just went for whoever was available on the cheap and not what we needed. We’ve needed a striker for years!!! Unbelievable! This stinks of a take over!

Take over? Great news if true.

Unlike on Championship Manager signing players is a nightmare especially with all the hangers on looking for their 10%. Unless you throw big money you have not got at a player, who may end up being be a dud anyway. The transfer market is nuts. 74m for Lukaku, the rich man's Adi Akimbyi. Palace have spent beyond their means for the first 5 years in the premier league and have had to reign back spending in the Roy era. It is foolhardy to expect each transfer window to solve all the problems like a majic wand with money we don't have. I would imagine several right backs were sort but we're either injured, overpriced or not interested in joining a mediocre team. I hope we fill any gaps in the squad with academy players like Daly. AWB would never had a chance without our last failure to sign a right back as cover. Zaha only flourished due to Palace being broke and s***e. Reidwald can play emergency cover if they are afraid of adding in a youngster. Enjoy the rollercoaster rather than complain about things we don't have full knowledge about. 90% of clubs are in the same boat and have fans complaining just the same about their lack of quality signings. As long as the team put the effort in the games are there to be won. Hopefully Roy will try something different if his regular setup fails to work. I hope but I don't expect.

Utter tripe of a window Freedman should by sued for robbing a living from the club. No striker again, no right back, we are owned by a penny pinching cretin...almost miss Noades, at least we knew where we stood with him.

With the utmost respect, one cannot allocate culpability in the direction of Freedman for the current dealings in the transfer window.

Palace average net spending is 30m per season since promotion. This is currently the only season with a transfer profit of 43m. The wages eat up most of the TV money. Until Palace get more bums on seats, break into Europe, get more TV games or risk a billionaire takeover we have to balance the books. The fate of Bolton, etc awaits who do not.

Sorry, you cannot say that the club have not had time to find players to fill holes in the squad that have been there for several years. You cannot say it is too hard to recruit when teams that were around us last season have managed to improve their squads. You cannot argue that the average age of the squad hasn't actually got older in the transfer window or that any of the players we have signed will have any re-sale value, Finally we have a number of players with one year left on their contracts who haven't signed new contracts and will walk away for free at the end of this season which surely is just terrible management.

Absolutely, we have no idea what constraints were given in this window. Of course we all want a striker a left back the list never ends.

But maybe we’re in the crap financially, no backing from owners so no transfer cash , we have to sell to get back in the black a fact.

DF and SP may well of played a blinder bringing in 5 players for less than we pissed up the wall with Sorloth, face the facts we can’t carry on losing cash like we were, it’s club suicide if we go down.

So what if Br1-3ton spent 59 mill, they will finish below us as will Sheffield, Villa , and 3 or 4 more.

We actually have a better team than we give ourselves credit for, we just need RH to find a way to get our forward line working.

Time to put this to bed and get behind the team Saturday, and let’s beat that s***ty scouse team and that tosser of a manager they have.

I am not saying the lack of signing a right back or a spare striker does not matter. Ideally they would have kept AWB so would not have needed one. I am merely pointing out we do not have a clue what goes on. I have tried my socks off to buy a dayvan on eBay but some bugger or other always outbids me. The wife is constantly moaning that I am equally as inept as Dougie etc. If I had money to burn I'd have a van now and would be off to the beach every month, but I am poor and so have to search for scraps with everyone else.

Not getting a new right back is the worst thing about the transfer window for me as it was obvious that we were never going to spend £30m+ on trying to get the bat back or risk throwing more money away on unproven Championship striker or the likes of Augustin whose stats in Germany are not exactly that great against what we have already. Yet again not even using our 2 domestic loans seems odd as we can all see positions we are light in even if it meant giving game time to a youngster from one of the top 6 ahead of our own. Would also like to know how Bournemouth, Watford and now even Brighton can spend the amounts of money they are on players every summer yet we are constantly balancing books or at supposed risk of breaching FFP?

£43 million up and that doesn’t take in to account any of the £100m TV money we haven’t spent.

Considering normally we spend £30m on players we’re actually £73m better off...
