Does anyone actually believe that Southgate picks the team.......or is he told who to select ? Certainly seems like hes told who he can and cant select...AWB being a case in point..plays for Palace no chance signs for w***ers straight in the team.... Yes, I believe Sam Alardyce is still picking the team with the help of Tracey Neville.

I think Conor Coady was their best chance of getting someone in the England squad, but it seems Southgate doesnt fancy him. Very good player though. Coady joined Wolves as a midfielder,signed by Kenny Jackett.He actually played the large part of season 2016-17 as a right-back for the club.It was Espirito Santo who moved him to play in the centre of a 3 man defence.

The very fact Wan-Bissaka has been picked in the England squad shows how biased the whole National setup really is. I wish the England team was picked from the best performing English players from the League, not just the biggest names. From memory Southgate himself didn't get picked for England whilst playing very well for us in midfield. Yet, a move to Villa, a couple of games in a back 3 for them and he got a call-up to the first England squad that season!

Due to train strikes I went to Saints v Man U on Saturday, was sat behind the right back corner flag & he was bang average. I did have to stop myself cheering when he made a trade mark slide tackle. Edited by Southampton_Eagle (02 Sep 2019 6.02pm)
