Most of what you say I agree with.

Hodgson has spent much of his career with limited resources and has found a way to win a certain number of games so until Palace shake the money tree for him why would you change that. Yes it's percentage football but his record kinda speaks for itself.

Most managers have a certain way of playing both Klopp and Guardiola will only play one way regardless of the results, they are fortunate to be at clubs that back their style with money.

Yes, eventually I would like to see Camarasa and Meyer as the wide midfielders and Townsend up top with Wilf, but that is just my opinion.

I was calling for his head last season, but after yet another summer of the board proving it's bargain basement or f*** all I admit I see no merit in sacking the Wodge. He's perfect for the board's ambition of scraping survival on zero investment. I just can't buy into it and can't pretend to be happy about it.

Opportunity missed as far as I'm concerned . His absolute refusal to drop out of form players (PVA especially) or adapt to opposition (Brighton and Watford especially) means that we missed our best opportunity to challenge for a top 8 finish last season. I agree regarding the strikers to an extend, but it's also clear that finishing isn't being worked on enough in training. Nor are set pieces which we've become criminally wasteful with.
This season, the board failed to get a striker (Maupay I think is going to prove a "what could've been" player) nor have we any sensible, premier league standard, options at right back. Without this backing Roy is our best option. Going to home games is going to remain a no go for me!
Ideally a new manager comes in after Roy's contract runs down, having secured our survival with a few games to spare, and the board back him in the market.

Cynically, Roy will get an extension, one more quality player will go and not be replaced and it's a continuation of the funeral march to the inevitable relegation, just like Stoke, West Brom, Fulham etc who's boards took the same approach in years gone by.

Still though, roll on celebrating 8 seasons of clinging on whoop whoop!

One of our best, most consistent and hardworking players over the last few seasons? Wouldn't recommend it.
