We were strongly linked with a number of players, mainly strikers, wingers and full backs that went elsewhere so I thought it would be interesting to keep tabs on what might have been whether good, bad or indifferent.

It's only been a week and I'm struggling to remember who we were linked with!

Castagne
Aguilar
Ishmael Sarr
Chalov
Maupay
Watkins
Reece James
Ciaran Clark
Seri
Saint-Maxim

Was there anyone else?

Took his goal well on the opening day but missed a very good chance set up by FFS yesterday. Still would of liked to see him here. Pukki took his goals well, so there is some quality from the Champs. Watkins has 2 goals all ready.

So much for these wingers.

Sarr is still deemed not match fit and hasn't even made the bench. Didn't he play during the summer at the Afcon ? If so, he should be in better shape than others.

Maxim was on the bench last week and didn't even make the bench on sat due to injury.

The irony being to all this is that Sorloth has scored 3 in 3 and they love him!!

Castagne - played 2 games due to injury, one at left mid and one at right mid. Scored 1.
Aguilar - played 4, got sent off in one
Ishmael Sarr - not played much more than 20 mins in each game, done nothing
Chalov - scored 4 in 10
Maupay - scored 2 in 6
Watkins - scored 4 in 8
Reece James - injured
Ciaran Clark - benched all season
Seri - played 5, sent off in 1, scored in 1
Saint-Maxim - injured/done nothing when on the pitch

Players we probably wouldn't have said no to at the time:

Moise Kean - done nothing in 6
Patrick Cutrone - 1 in 5
Joelinto - 1 in 6
Che Adams - nothing in 6
McBurnie - 1 in 6

Too early to tell but none of them are pulling up trees at the moment. Chalov probably the pick of the bunch.

It's probably rubbish but I did have to laugh when I read two of the linked articles on the site regarding players we're looking at. Yep you guessed it...Two central midfielders that should almost allow us to field an entire team of CMs. Maybe it's for Roy's final swan song.
