I think it's written by that bloke who lectures on football finance in bin-dipper land and is on NSC (El Presidente?). He's given himself a pseudonym, but his writing style is pretty distinctive.

Well the deadline has passed and I'm not sure there is any merit in the Sporting Risk interest - can't see an extension being granted to perform more due diligence, dot i's and cross t's maybe.

Well I hope it is - but the EFL have to award the golden share, which was withheld from the outgoing Chairman as he failed to provide proof of funds.

I think Bury and Bolton have both been given a final deadline of this Tuesday.

It's a shame but this cannot be allowed to continue as fixtures pile up and teams that have already played games don't know if their points count.

You have to ask about the fit and proper owner test which seems to be a joke.

We should look to the German club model which is far better than ours. Each club before the start of the season must prove that they have paid their taxes and wages and have sufficient funds to last the season.

Not paying wages is a good early red flag, which could attract a points deduction.

I wouldn't want our finances to be subjected to too closer scrutiny

And yet if that is true they should be.

It won't happen for the same reason as the fit and proper person test is a joke and won't be changed. It requires the votes of the clubs and if you are a dodgy owner or a club that has shaky finances well turkeys don't vote for Christmas.

And that is why sport has governing bodies who are supposed to be above petty selfish interests and look out for the sport as a whole. The FA are a disgrace and if I were sport minister I would give them 6 months to clean house or I would pass a law setting up a new body with powers even if that did upset FIFA.

all down to the dominance of the two Manchester clubs and the pull of the EPL for me. Bury & Bolton use to be ever presents in the top two leagues but now the locals can head into Manchester for premier games at similar prices to league 2.

The FA Cup Final 1903.

Won by the shakers, Bury 6 Derby County 0.

The venue? Crystal Palace (between 1895-1914).

Let's hope for their survival, a town without a football team is pretty crap.

somebody with a better knowledge of spanish football than me can fill in the gaps but if the fa allowed it surely we could have barcelona b style where rules could be set that only u23 players could play but not get promoted to the top tier.

say one of the big clubs have a share and send 5/6 kidsa seaosn there on loan to get 1st team football.

The big problem with feeder clubs is that the smaller club loses their identity. So Chelsea buy QPR why would any QPR fan want to support Chelsea reserves.

It also means that the big clubs can buy up all the emerging talents from the lower leagues knowing that they can loan them out to the feeder club.

My preference is to restrict the number of players a club can loan out to say 5. Chelsea normally have about 30 players on loan each season. If they could only loan out a handful I think they would stop hoovering up all the young talent as their wages bill would take a big hit. This would then give the smaller clubs the opportunity to develop talent without it being poached and over time that club would either build a successful team or at least get a decent fee for a player.

A Charlton mate was complaining the amount of talent they have sold on the cheap over the last 5-10 years much of it before the player has established themselves.
