I wonderful win against the Manure and well overdue. But how on earth did Roy drop Ayew for the Sheffield game? We all thought he played well against Everton.

As it happens I thought Tekkers played ok when he came on and obviously started our winning goal when he robbed Pogba.

Really enjoyed MoTD!

I have read a number of match reports from the tabloids this morning. In case you missed it apparently Palace were involved in a game at Old Trafford although you might have missed that as the coverage was all about Man United.

This is why I hate the big clubs. When they win the media falls over themselves to talk about how great the club / manager / players are. When they lose rather than talk about the other team the direction of the story is "big club in crisis let's discuss".

Hodgson had a plan yesterday and it worked, yes we got lucky with some of the incidents but considering we have had zero luck at Old Trafford for decades I think we were due a bit. However very little is being said about Hodgson's tactics and team selection, rather it's about what their manager and players did wrong.

By the way we may have only had about 30% possession yesterday but Man United had the same number of shots on target as we did 3. Well played lads and sorry I wasn't more confident before the game.

I have to add to this after seeing Garth Crooks’ team of the week on BBC this morning. Bit p!££ed off that there are two Chelsea & Man City players in there but only one for us and NUFC. Surely our away wins deserve a bit more recognition than Chelsea scraping past a newly promoted side and a routine win for City?

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

No, we won 3-0 at the real Theatre of Dreams, Selhurst Park!
I think that's what the original poster meant.

Just savour it as we all know that sooner or later we will be on the wrong end of VAR

Yep, even young spider legs couldn't quite get across to block the shot. He still has some positional work to do on his game, but he looks capable of becoming the finished article. Its a shame we couldn't take him to that level, but the money was good (even if we didn't spend it!). Cahill is looking like a good signing. Will Tomkins displace him when both Sakho and Tomkins are fit?

I think AWB is a fantastic player but his tackling stats actually make him look a lot better than what he is. His positioning sense is often found wanting and his use of the ball in the final third is not that of the worlds best or even englands best right back.

Our only crime in selling him was not replacing him.

Yesterday I think VAR did us a favour. I think there were 2 instances for penalty shouts which the referee did not give. Instead he allowed VAR to review and they were both turned down or in other words the referee passed the buck to the technology.

I wonder if VAR wasn't operating would the referee have given them? The big boys do have a history of getting soft decisions so I was happy how VAR operated yesterday.

Yes, it did on the day and you rightly highlight a flaw with the technology that unwavering cheerleaders for VAR fail to see. That even with the best intentions, exactly how and when it is used it still subjective and so offers up as many questions as answers. Used in a truly limited sense, it's a worthwhile technology to use, I just hope more decisions or uses of it fall for us than against on the whole.

surely all this talk about the possible penalty for the foul on Martial is rubbish, 1st contact was outside the box so VAR should not have been used. Solskjaer was adamant it should have been a penalty..... was he watching a different match. I agree that Cahill was lucky not to have got a red though...

They are not talking about that incident with Martial and Cahill .T hey are talking about the incident with Martial and Kelly which could have easily been a penalty.

Very happy with Cahill's performance - looked like he was really organising us at the back.

Correct. I'm glad that a current Erithian recognises the 'humour' of this former Erithian!

He actually made a wonderful, clean tackle on Zaha in the box. It was unfortunate for him that no other United defenders were back helping out and that de Gea came through as usual

United paid 130 mill. for Maguire and our young full back, we got Cahill (MOTM) and goalscorer Ayew for 2,5 mill.
Still can not believe the final scoreline....

Nope he will switch to a back 3 .
