Grealish was dragging his foot like he had a dead leg.
Like wilf these 'fouls' eventually catch up with you.
He dragged his foot out for a full 3yards on a clip I've seen so karma gets you in the end.
If K friend has been duped before he ain't goner get done twice.
3 points get in and f*** the inbred t***s

Grealish is a clever player: he does this thing when he has the ball at his feet and running, and from the slightest touch he stumbles, then pretends to keep his balance - eventually the referee gets sympathetic "oh he's trying to stay on his feet", and gives the foul. Saw that about 5 or 6 times during this game.

On the flip side: Luka did a blatant pull of the shirt in about the 4th or 5th minute and didn't get a yellow card. It was an absolute miracle that he didn't get it until late on the game.

Friend also carded Kouyate, indicating it was for multiple fouls, which, for the life of me, I can't remember.....

I've looked at the incident time and time again. If there is any contact at all it is Wilf outside the box and that is minimal. Cahill withdraws his leg before Grealish goes to ground.

What the ref saw was Grealish going down easily on 3 or more occasions during the match which probably influenced his decision to call the free kick for simulation.

It is irrelevant whether the ball goes in the net as the ref has already blown his whistle. The fact it did go into the net is why the pundits are blaming VAR for not intervening. The only time I could see VAR coming into play on this passage of play was if they could clearly see Cahill bring down Grealish which would then mean a penalty. You cannot allow a goal to stand regardless of VAR if the whistle has been blown as this signifies a stoppage in play and will have been heard by the players which then, may or may not influence how they challenge for the ball. In this instance I don't think hearing the whistle would have stopped the shot or the goal, but that is not the point, the play has been stopped.

The VAR would have reviewed the challenge by Cahill and taken the same view as the ref that he did not make contact and therefore it was a reasonable decision by the ref to blow up against Grealish for simulation.

At the end of the day this is one of those decisions that can go against you just as easily as it goes for you. I am pleased that we have had the rub of the green against both Utd and now Villa as we had our fair share of poor calls last year.

Just my take on it but I thought Lineker and Co were bang out of order on MOTD last night.

I have looked at this several times and agree with everything you say. Why so many high profile characters are willing to question Friend, who was right behind Grealish, is strange, from that angle he got a light touch from Zaha, didn’t go down, ran straight into Cahill, leaving his foot, and then doesn’t fall, but clearly leaves the ground diving. He might have got it, but Friend could clearly see he was looking to hit the deck anyway. Lineker , and Co, are crap. Not a word of how Villa, didn’t get a smell outside of the Grealish, dive.

No point even discussing the Gearlish incident, swings and roundabouts, how many times has a decision gone against us in the past and how many will go against us in the future, these things even themselves out over the course of a season

He hasn’t seen a certain hand of God incident either!!!!

Just heard Mark Halsey on Talksport the referee could have allowed play to continue and then checked with VAR after the goal was scored.

Once he blew the whistle the only decision VAR could consider is did Grealish dive or was it a penalty. Halsey felt it wasn't a dive.

This whole thing is totally blown up by the media, because of the time in the match, they went on to score after our players stopped for the whistle and it was media darling Grealish. There hasn't been a mention how Ayew was taken down in the box in the first half, which should of been a penalty.

Anyway, who cares they lost, all the column inches and so called pundits opinions isn't going to change the result.

Exactly. They wouldn't have given a s***e if it had happened in the 70th minute, in a game that we definitely deserved the win. Villa looked poor I thought and will find it tough to stay up.
