2 games in a row at home, 1-0 up and the opposition down to 10 men. 2 games in a row that we have failed to see it out comfortably. Had Villa's goal stood we couldn't have complained, and today they scored and it counted. You could see it coming for the last 10 minutes, we started to look nervous on the ball, even Sakho and Cahill.

Hodgson also failed to change the game when they went down to 10 men. Why did he need to keep 3 screening midfielders on when they go down to 10 ? I'll put my tin hat on, but had he taken one of Kouyate/Luka/Jimmy for Meyer, we would have got a second goal. None of those players is good enough around the box, and we were pretty much playing the game inside their half.

Our attacking movement is appalling as well. Nobody knows where to run, people get in each others way, misplaced flicks and cutbacks when we get into a promising position. This is not the players, this is 100% down to the coaching. It is their natural ability that gets them into those positions, Wilf or Schlupp's pace for instance, but they need to have a plan when they get there.

I'm not even angry anymore, more frustrated that we can see something in the stands and the people who are paid to sort it out seem incapable.

Think it’s about time Roy gave-way to younger blood to manager this wasteful and poor Side before we slide into the abbis he needs to tend his garden

On the positive Cahill was immense in this game.

Why no third sub? Even to take some time out of the game, poor management

Completely agree with the bbc report in that the players didn’t kill the game and just put their foot on the ball - it was bad player management. Can’t blame Hodgson for that result (perhaps not having Benteke on the bench though?)

Part of BBC report - But they were simply unable to kill off the game and in committing men forward to do so they showed a lack of game management as they left themselves open to Wolves on the counter-attack.

"I am bitterly disappointed," Hodgson said.

"It feels like a defeat. I didn't expect them to get such a clear goal chance. You want game management and players to use experience to see games through but the feeling is one of disappointment and anguish that we weren't able to see the game through. We have surrendered two points."

Didn't see him on the touchline screaming and organising. The players may have let him down but he has let us down today.

2 subs. Could have made one more and killed of that injury time.

No it wouldn't as refs add on about 30 seconds or a minute for subs.

But it would have broken up play. Amateur decision not to do it

Should have been 3 points.
Can't score goals.
No sub made in injury time.
Benteke is waste of a shirt.
Cahill had a great game as did Sakho.
We cannot close games out.
General comments - poor recruitment in the summer, a manager who is happy if all we do is survive, some players need to learn some basics given the wages out there today total probably £750k per week!

True. I agree with a lot of what Hodgson has said but this is true.

The thing is, where was he all first half? I didn’t see him stood up once. Was he in the stand? Ray lewington was stood for most of the 2nd half and Roy sat for a lot of it.
