Our best footballing back four has Sakho and PVA in it with regard to coming out of defence with the ball.
However, it does make the left side of our defence vulnerable as they are both prone to mistakes and lack of concentration.
To rectify this we may either have to switch Cahill to play on the left of central defence instead of Sakho ( with Tomkins alongside him in central defence) or find a different left back who is more defensively secure than PVA.

Benteke's confidence is not worth more than points for our team. He is completely and utterly finished and should not be humoured for a moment longer. This waste of space shouldn't even be playing for our reserves.

Yep.

I thing Cahill will now be the main man withone other. Handy he has looked decent this year as Tomkins and Sakho struggle to stay fit.

F*ck his confidence. He brought off a center forward that was chasing everything and , at a foot shorter than Benteke, was winning headers. Benteke was hiding behind the center back twice when decent crosses came in and missed a sitter.

Ayew and McCarthur were knackered and the timing to take them off was correct. Problem is (and it’s a big one) is that we don’t have good enough players to replace them. Ideally the two that came off would be better being the two coming on to see the game out. Benteke and McCarthy (early days perhaps) made the 11 poorer I’m afraid. Mind you the other 9 on the pitch needed to play out those last ten minutes holding onto the ball rather than kicking it anywhere or wasting goal attempts. Goes back to the close season where we haven’t brought in first team replacements but just squad players?

Why bring Hennessey into it he wasn't playing was he. Or aren't we allowed to question Saint Vicente?

You can question what you want, what about ward diving under a ball that was a foot off the floor, instead of kicking it? Or no one stopping the cross? Of Benteke not releasing the ball to Zaha?

Have we forgot Townsend, he could easily have replaced Ayew it he was Knackered or Injured.

You saw us play some wonderful stuff with the confidence the goal gave us but being only one goal up is always going to be a red rag, Benteke is going to feel even worse tonight now and that is not what his confidence needs, I still think it is worth putting him on as Roy is doing so in order to try and help his confidence, being defensive against Wolves is just sensible.
Benteke really had a stinker, hitting the keeper was just quite unbelievable wasn't it, also his poor movement cost him two great opportunities with through balls..I just feel very very sad for him.

I'm sure the £6.25M pa will ease the pain for Benteke.

Most frustrating thing for me was Ayew coming off and a team completely devoid of hold up play. Benteke could not keep the ball and kill the tempo. Ayew’s hold up play is spot on, and if he has remained on I think we would of secured 3 points

Agreed, I'd play an exhausted Ayew over Benteke any day.

Because the goal keeper is the last line of defence and he has the advantage of being able to use his hands. I haven't said he would have stopped the goal but if he had come off his line when he saw Ward miss the ball he may have had a chance of doing so.

I think you're being hypercritical here. No one would have been anticipating Ward doing what he did. I understand your point of the GK being the last line of defence but in this instance I think that saying just highlights that there was so many things that could/should have been done before it even got anywhere near Guaita. I thought he had a very solid game.

Just utterly seething that we've managed to snatch a draw from within the jaws of victory.
