Indeed all the media attention is about holidaymakers etc etc but there are staff who have mortgages and bills to pay and I really feel for all of them.Holidaymakers will return home and will get compensated, the TC staff will be unemployed and face an uncertain future.

TC's share price has dropped 96% in the last year or so. Workplace 'rumours' alone over this period should've alerted them to the fact that something wasn't right.

Maybe a bit harsh but would some be waiting for redundancy, thinking that liquidation was a very long odds bet.
Job hunting wouldve been high on my to do list months ago.

Possibly, but not intended to be.

Normally if it's the truth tux.
That's when it hurts.
I was on a company that went under over night 20p in the pound.
Very few of us on site guys had warning.
Only half hour to get our own tools off site as security was on it's way that morning.
Although 20p would be good for these people it wont happen sadly.

Agreed. Self preservation kicks in at times like this. As someone who worked as a carpenter for years in the construction industry you kind of sensed when something like this was going to happen. I'd have my tools in the back of my car and I'd be gone pronto.....

. Unfortunately I'm not at all surprised! A couple I know spent 5 grand on a holiday last year and from their description, it doesn't sound like they ever mustered the energy to get off the hotel poolside sun loungers.

One of my favourite holiday destinations is Kefalonia which is an island with no fast food restaurants or Indian or Chinese either and that puts a lot of people off going there

Yes, I've found that my favourite holiday destinations have been distinctly lacking in familiarity of the same 'cookie cutter' places. As consequence they attract a different crowd and encourage a more local experience!

Likewise I'm also not a lover of the packaged holiday despite it being much cheaper. We book flights and villa separately despite knowing that we have less protection in the event of either insolvency or fraud.

Understandable, given the air of youthfulness conveyed by my posts.
