Just seen Sainsbury’s are planning on closing stores over the next 5 yrs, hope they close the one at Selhurst.

What would be a shame would be if Sainsbury's had a fire (which might persuade them to close anyway), like what happened next door to Spurs....

That'll become the Sainsbury's museum no doubt. They'll never let it go!

Why do you want that one to close?

Because it would help with the redevelopment of the ground and make it easier with later development if they wanted to.

I don't think that you've really thought this through. IF Sainsbury's were to decide to close the local branch, they will sell the whole site for redevelopment. As we're unable (likely) or unwilling to pay the price for the little bit of car park we need for the (so far non-existent) new stand we certainly won't be in the market for the whole site. It's more likely that, if they were to sell, we'd be in a worse position with a new owner, who'd have their own plans, than with Sainsbury's who have, at least, indicated a willingness to sell us the land we want. It's academic anyway as the whole 'new stand project' is dead in the water.
