I'm quite happy for us to structure add ons based on performance. But if these only kick in when we qualify for Europe I don't blame QPR for saying no thanks. Imagine what Parish would say if Fulham or Leeds put in a low bid for Zaha with add ons based on them getting into Europe

But my sense is that next week will be very busy for all clubs as the season approaches, and they will want if at all possible to get their buying and selling business done. Will Eze be a Palace player next week? Answers on a postcard!

Fact is if he’s been identified as one of our main targets ( I don’t know he has) we could have had it wrapped up by now. QPR reportedly desperate to sell. We’ve likely just low balled. We’ll walk away from this deal it’s almost guaranteed. The deal wasn’t right for us. We’re just cheap. We’ve overpaid on Benteke and Sakho and wages on others and this is where we are.

I am sorry to say this but I can see Fulham riding over the hill with their chequebook open and signing him up under our noses. We should have once again just have committed ourselves a bit more first time around!
