I know it's not. I am aware of what I already pay to the sh*tshows of governments so far in my working life Look at Scandinavia though and the high tax/social security systems they have and the quality of life. If you have a government that knows what it's doing and looking out for people rather than profit then things can be better.

Not registering ( Iif this is true) is not the same as accessing the NHS. I have seen many examples of NHS abuse, running into hundreds of thousands of pounds. Of course if you are happy with this ( maybe one of the reasons for long waiting times and lack of money) that is your prerogative I agree if it's chasing unpaid NHS bills.

If you feel that someone from Nigeria (for example) who has never contributed towards the NHS should be allowed to enter the U.K. and immediately give birth to twins at your expense, then fine but don’t complain about lack of funds/ beds available.

It's clear (for those that use their eyes) that most of these people cannot pay their share of taxes so the cost is met with borrowing and reducing the service to people that have actually paid into the system. Obvioulsy this is also true of all other "free" services. We also justify more of this because we need mopre doctors and nurses. Yet we keep idiots in labour telling us we are one of the wealthiest countries in the world and still give away billions in foreign aid to countries that either don't need it or have corrupt regimes. Look at the state of it: I'm no longer proud to be British. We are a joke and a disgrace.

Quality of life is wrecked by too many people and in some cases, the wrong kind of people. Sweden is finding that out right now.

I would agree with you though on the principle that wealthy people will pay higher taxes for a high quality society.....though how high is reasonable is a question. As is what quality returns do they get in return. Scandinavia though is currently damaging its brand.

Scandinavian governments tend to have universal benefits and don't means test. When I was briefly unemployed I had savings so I was told use this to pay my mortgage and all my other bills. I spent most of my working life paying 40% tax but when I need it I'm told to go away. If Labour is serious about having a generous welfare / benefits system they should take that on board and yes it would mean millionaires are entitled. If everyone can claim then maybe we won't complain.

Anybody notice how rubbish the news has been today? That's because they are not allowed to speculate until after 10pm and not just about the election anything that might be considered bias is out. This just goes to show how much of our "news" is actually nothing more than speculation to fill up the airwaves. We'd be better if they showed a tropical fish tank or landscapes.
