For me I've become quite used to watching on a stream.

When I was a young man people who didn't go on a regular basis home and away were plastics to be sneered at. However I think you are right these days I am amazed anyone can afford to be one of the "never miss a game" crowd. Apart from the cost as you say its the constant changing of fixture dates and times it must play havoc with peoples' relationships.

One more point

It's a hard decision I had to make a few years ago.

not living in London I have spent most of my life going to away games with my father. Used to go to around 10 to 14 a season. Basically any game in the North and we used to try to make at least one homage to Selhurst a season

Few years ago a health issue meant I had to have a change of career, actually to a career i am much happier in but came with a 40% reduction in my salary.

I had to look to see where I could save money, and going to away games comes at a real cost. ticket £30 to £45, petrol money is at least £25 to £40 (depending on how far to travel. Food is say another £15 to £20. roughly added up to around £100 per match. £1000 to £1300 (ish) a year.

A shame and I accept my circumstances really work against it but now I just do not go to any. Streams and televised matches are in reality a lot cheaper and more accessible for most.

I make one new away ground each season (still trying to visit as many as possible), but I also try and get to Selhurst once per season too. Pensioner living in rural France = too expensive.

But I do watch every match on a stream...

Already have unfortunately. Over £100 just for train and match ticket.

I've got 2 young kids at home so can't afford to do it as my money goes on them and other things now.

I go away games near me. Leicester, Villa and Wolves this season.

I watch every game on IPTV. It's not the same but at least I can watch them.

I find it's actually cheaper overall watching palace in the prem. I travel from Grantham and there are a lot of matches in the capital which means cheaper train fares on the mainline to london.
Less games per season in the prem, and away tickets capped at £30. Watching matches in the championship would be more costly overall.
A season ticket saves overall and at least you can manage to sell tickets for most games that you cannot attend.
