Had a couple of near misses with hookers or 'toms' as they are also known.
On my 1st stag do in Amsterdam my mate nic the greek offered to pay for 2 at once.
I bottled & declined.
Funny near miss was Streatham common.
I'd bought a new van for my painting business & had it boldly sign written.
unfortunatly the van was a citroen & crap, it broke down right oon the common that was known for prostitution.
Me & dirty dave had to sit with the doors locked for well over an hour while they approached the van enquiring on our business.
(in case you're wondering, dirty dave had no money..)

I have a recollection of an incident many years ago over-hearing an account about some chaps who were returning from an event in central London.

One of those in the car was desperate to empty his bladder when they were in Streatham, so the driver pulled over and this gentleman proceeded to walk down a dark alley in order to carry out this bodily function in private well away from any eyes.
A lady of the night approached the vehicle asking if anyone wanted any business to be told that none of the occupants were interested but that the chap down the alley would oblige!!!!! She approached him whilst he was in full flow much to his surprise and alas he declined! A lot of laughter when he returned to the car!

Definitely Streatham always has had prostitutes.

I was just getting into my car a few years ago now when I heard a call from someone, and she came over to the car and asked me if I wanted business.

Really quite nice looking Irish girl about 25/30.

I was typically useless and actually apologised to her making some lame excuse.

What we would have done in an Austin Metro in broad daylight I can't imagine.

Really, hands off our NHS in that case.
