Not so much bothered by the political correctness element but more the blatant hypocrisy when certain comedians get slated yet others, such as Frankie Boyle, get away with some truly awful stuff because they make all the right noises about other bits and pieces.

I tend to view myself as on the far end of the libertarian scale when it comes to free speech but even I balked at the comments he made about Katie Price and her son. Her, then fair game. She plays the publicity game and therefore is in the firing line but the kid? No. There are lines in the sand and that should have been a definite one.

Although to be fair to Harvey, his performance one morning on breakfast TV puts him in a league far above that sweaty t*** when it comes to making me laugh out loud.

A few years back on Hol someone made a joke about spikes and babies.

I wasn't amused.

However, I didn't complain I just moved on.....people say stuff.....there are words and there are actions.

I'm far more upset and offended by the manner in which plenty allow doctors to flush away and sometimes tear apart real babies like some kind of biological waste.......so 'hurty' words are on a level so low compared to that.....that the comparison is an actual joke.

So when somebody thinks that their morality has to be the standard by which others, like comedians, are made to adhere to.....I have to smile.

Oh and I have to occur with the sentiments expressed over Frankie Boyle....plenty of inappropriate jokes but I'm never going to support banning him....even though he's often unpleasant and often completely against what I believe in.

Know your audience is the phrase that springs to mind.
Jimmy Carr once said nothing should be off limits for comedy.
Then spoilt it by saying except hillsborough.
Having worked in the emergency services, i can assure you if i repeated some of it on here people would be apoplectic.
Armed forces the same. The darkest humour .

I was in the Komedia once and this Geordie bloke came on last. He wasn't really funny (I thought) but he had the audience literally falling off their seats laughing when he was doing his Thatcher routine.

Then he turned it around and started doing anti PC stuff (against the PC crowd, not by doing tasteless gags). The change in atmosphere was remarkable and the same ones that were helpless with mirth at the Thatcher jokes were suddenly booing and shouting out "Shame" at the same bloke.

It was quite weird really.

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

Really? Every time I turn on the TV she seems to be on it with her overly fake smile and pretending to be the nicest human on the planet. I even went to the gym once in Bromley - a proper el cheapo gym - and she was in there shooting a fitness video. I can't escape it!
