I don't think Camarasa will ever get a start. looks like Roy is wanting to off load him in January.
I cant Imagine why, he is supposed to be a very good player, but the writing is on the wall for him by the looks of it

You do wonder what is going on here as Roy would happily play RLC when he was with us. Clearly he is not totally adverse to put some forward motion in the midfield.

Usual over the top disappointment on here after a loss. Chelsea were on fire, won 5 straight league games coming into it and will most likely finish in the top 4. No shame getting beaten away to them.

November was always going to be extremely tough, Leicester at home and Arsenal away were the only two games we could realistically target points from.

Yes, we are boring going forward but that’s because we have no goal scorers. Roy knows this so has probably realised the only way we’ll get points is to be solid defensively, which we are. Things will change if we can get a striker in, as they did last season when we signed Batshuayi.

The players still look motivated and well organised. After the Liverpool game we have a favourable run of 9 games where i’d expect us to win more than we lose. Nothing to worry about, Roy is doing well with what he has.
.

Our third loss in four and the other game should’ve been a defeat were it not for a very fortunate and rather ridiculous VAR overrule at Arsenal and we are certainly not solid defensively...far from it! Two goals conceded in each of the last four and the worst marking at set pieces we’ve seen in over two full seasons!

I am surprised at the number of people who appear content to accept “the gulf in class” between the likes of Chelsea and ourselves. It begs the question why are we bothering? We have now been in the Prem 7 years and yesterday was awful (almost as bad as Sheffield United away). As an attacking force we were non-existent. I am fed up to the back teeth with our negativie tactics. Look at Burnley, Bournemouth, Sheffield Utd and the number of players they get forward compared to us. The game is about entertainment and there is precious little of that watching CPFC home or away at the moment. We can’t even use the excuse about lack of money - look at how many Chelsea youth players were in their team yesterday. You just knew we would not ba able to hold out. Still fuming at that display.

4 games we were expected to lose. Any points in November should be considered a bonus. For a team of our standard, we should measure success against the bottom 13. If we can match the likes of Wolves and Everton over a course of a season we have punched above our weight.

We’ve conceded 16 goals in 12 games and after the Liverpool game, we’d have played all the big clubs. So far, it is an excellent record. We are a tough team to break down.

Everyone is welcome to their opinions, I just find it hard to fathom that people are critical of our tactics when we are clearly hindered by our lack of firepower upfront.

Chelsea are mega-rich and have a world wide scouting network. No comparison can be made with our academy and whilst everyone is getting dewy eyed about their youngsters let's not forget they have a transfer embargo for breaking the rules. Their current relative success isn't some romantic success story.

In the promotion season Josh McEachran played against us for Boro (on loan from Chelsea) and was anonymous. I was reliably informed he was on £30k a week despite not having made an appearance for Chelsea of any note.

Football is meant to be about entertainment but is now about money. That said I was entertained by our wins against City, Arsenal and United over the last few months.

Good post which reflect my views exactly.

The idea that there'll be easy games coming up is daft. The likes of Burnley are too good for us as it stands. We've had a lot of good luck this season and it has masked the fact that we're not that good. With Wilf way off the boil (who can blame him - he's held us together for way too long) it just makes matters worse. Something has to change.

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

Eaglehamster and Warlodog - both good posts and I agree!
I don't think any of us are being "over the top" in expressing our disappointment.
Stats don't lie (normally) and we could say that we should be happy with 15 points to date with just Liverpool of the big six to come.
I see it differently. I think we are sinking into the mire and see other teams - Burnley, Sheffield Utd and others trying to win games rather than trying not to lose them and it rankles with me.
We have no ambition on the field and we are now seeing an ageing Manager settling for a loss that doesn't do too much damage to the goal difference.
There is now one PL player who has scored more goals than our whole team and another who has equalled our tally to date - Vardy and Abraham - and despite our lack of firepower I cannot believe that we cannot set ourselves up to do better in that department - Wilf and Andros as a front two did better than this.
Roy is negative with a capital N at the moment and my only doubt about his situation and what I say is whether he is being instructed by the Board that it is "stay up at all costs and stuff style - we must not go down whatever happens" - so is it the Board stifling him or is it him?
Something has to change though otherwise the bottom three is coming up fast!

Whether we like it or not, based on our fixtures so far our tally is about as good as you would have expected at this stage with the Sheffield United unexpected loss cancelled out by the unexpected win at Old Trafford. On a results basis Roy has done his job and I don't think there is much argument against that. The big question is performances which I think is the opposite to some previous seasons where the performances have been there but not the results.

I feel sorry for Roy in some ways as it would appear he has had no support in the transfer market and I don't believe that the likes of Meyer and Camarasa were players he wanted for his system. Nevertheless, if we don't start getting points once the Liverpool game is out the way then I think he will have to readdress the situation or he will lose support very quickly as it really isn't much fun to watch us at the moment. I do think having Andros back in the team will make a big difference though once he has back up to full fitness as having two wingers balances the team.

From the board's perspective they need to back Roy in January and allow him to buy a striker and at least one new fullback, because as well as Ayew has grafted he is not good enough to carry the line on his own for the whole season and we need more pace in the back line.

The problem is a very predictable defensive minded midfield set-up and Hodgson's tactics that enable it to be so. It's difficult to remember a Palace midfield with such plodding attributes.
