Just to let you know - in that part of the world you will need to pay the odd 'entrance' fee or 'visa' charge. Nod, nod, wink, wink. Officials do not get paid well.
And when they say 'happy it up' it does not mean draw a smiley face on it. Think serious 60s psychedelia or 90s rave and you will get the idea.

Yep just make sure you can show onward travel within the time frame.

Vietnam was all very above board with the officials in terms of air arrival and land borders. Leaving Vietnam however into Cambodia and Laos was a different story!

Yes, you do not need a visa if you have a UK passport and you are staying for less than 15 days. I went there last month! They will ask to see your return plane ticket on your way into the country.

Hanoi is brilliant

Depends on what you are interested in though. We went to Ho Loa prison, Ho Chi Min mausoleum.

Opposite the cathedral is a place called Hanoi House (?), which does the best ginger tea. You have to go around the back to get to it, but once upstairs you can sit on the balcony to watch the world go by.

Food is amazing. We sent to a locals place serving dishes like fried catfish, but also to US Embassy which has the biggest ribs ever.

I bet this is the point when our man in Cornwall will give us all a run down on the many trips he been on to Hanoi. It will be a change from all crap he posted about Brexit.......Which he has gone very very quiet on since Boris won the election.!!!!!

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.
