I love the moaning pensioners who plead poverty and then complain about the amount of tax they pay.

I am always pleading poverty. Those five overseas holidays every year really cut into my piggy bank.

Yes. I get a £200 Christmas bonus every year from HMG

So do all my neighbours and they don't need it. I love the moaning pensioners who plead poverty and then complain about the amount of tax they pay.

Sad to hear that you are on your own - £200.00 per home, split between all senior occupants. Providing £200.00 not needed income means (hopefully) that people will go out and spend the money - generating economic activity in many areas - with HMG taking their share.

Disgusting I only had 4 overseas holidays this year (seriously) I think Greta is setting up camp outside my place.

That's one way at looking at it I suppose another would be to give the £200 to people who really need it.

Me too but Ryanair had some ridiculously cheap prices for the February half term so my son and I are off to Marbella for half term week next year. I will plant a tree when I get there though. Wifey couldn't get the time off work which makes it even cheaper.

And for the mathematicians amongst us, pensioner with son of college age - yes it does happen, especially when you marry someone much younger and for those with inquisitive minds she is English and I didn't go to Thailand or Philippines and buy one on the cheap
