Also did we not win at Burnley in the 2000’s when Dougie both scored and got sent off ?

That was definitely a Saturday 3pm game as I went round Croydon with a couple of mates who are Gills fans afterwards. I can’t remember if we had someone sent off but we won 1-0

Pretty sure we won at Hull 1-0 the game before Pulis took over. Bolassie or Wilf sent off and Barry Bannan scored late on in front of the away end.

I can remember a game home to I think Middlesboro when Billy Gilbert got sent off early, Vince Hilaire had a great game seem to hold the ball most of the game then near the end got hacked down for a penalty and we won 1-0, anyone remember that or did I dream it

Oh yes, I remember well that game against Middlesbrough. I was thinking about it last might, watching the way Jordan Ayew was holding the ball up. It made me think of the way Vince Hilaire ran rings round Boro that day. I have looked up my own records and I think it was the match on 4th February 1984 (over 35 years ago, oh dear!) and we won 1-0 with a late penalty from Peter Nicholas. We were in the old Second Division then - but so were Man City and Chelsea, as well as Leicester and West Ham.

That Middlesbrough game we had two players sent off before half time. I remember a quoye from Andy McCulloch stating he had never run so much and was throwing up on the pitch, good lad.

Also someone mentioned Burnley away in the 2000s and if memory serves me correctly we also had two players sent off in that game too

That was actually 9 men...Julian Gray scored twice that night (I was there)...won 2-1 (from memory)

With last night's heroics in mind, how many of the geriatrics among us can remember when we played Millwall away at the old Den, mid 60s, and John Sewell was carried off injured after two minutes ... no subs in those days? We held out until late and then scored, ending up 1 nil winners. The Millwall players lined up at the final whistle and applauded our players off the pitch, as did the crowd. Was anyone else there? I know our away kit was orange shirts.

We must have won a few games when Mark Dennis played, and you can bet your bottom dollar he didn't finish a good chunk of them.
