To think I turned down sex to watch that! Very professional from AJ. Did what he had to do, stayed disciplined and kept to his game plan. Thought he judged the range well and basically took the fight (and later the will) away from Andy. Fair to say AJ can now be confirmed as the third best heavyweight in the world. Bring on the really big fights!

The pro sports world has become ALL about money. In the case of boxing it has jumped to a level where it feels like a con just chasing big money for those that can from those that don’t know.

That would've deflated the best of us I'm not really sure why Ruiz thought packing on the pounds was a winning strategy, but he was certainly take a punch so he didn't really let himself down either. AJ was no doubt annoyed to be written off after one loss, and put it right. Keeps the division interesting and with plenty of British interest.

. I have to credit AJ though for being the man with the plan, and jabbing his way to victory Klitschko style. Granted it was move clinical than explosive, but he went into there with a plan and executed it. I'm still going to check out Andy Ruiz's next few fights. I'm kinda curious just how fat he can get whilst still boxing near the top. It's kind of impressive. Edited by Stirlingsays (08 Dec 2019 2.26am)

Well, I'd definitely watch it. When Joshua hit him to the stomach I lost sight of the glove somewhat. Usually when a boxer carries too much weight for their frame it really tells and they gas out in the later rounds....Joshua being an example of that. Yet Ruiz never has and he packs on far more....I think if he slimed down he would probably have an amazing engine.....Maybe even make cruiser.

Edited by Stirlingsays (08 Dec 2019 2.26am) A fight between Butterbean and Dustin Nichols would have tested the ropes, they were both giving Ruiz about 10 stone. Although neither were exactly fighting for world titles Esch actually put together a pretty decent record.

Well done AJ,didn't see the fight but listened on five live. Sounded like a masterclass from AJ. All he had to do was move and use he's jab and keep out of range from Ruiz which he did. I don't think Wilder wants to fight AJ. Time will tell.

I agree, though I think the real fight is between PBC and Dazn.....Wilder doesn't fart if Al Haymon doesn't tell him to......If Ruiz had won PBC would have controlled the heavyweight division and would probably have covertly blacklisted Dazn and Matchroom's fighters.

That would suit PBC right down to the ground.....but an attitude like that might see Dazn and Matchroom also refuse to give PBC fighters opportunities as well. Hearn didn't need to give Ruiz Jr an opportunity and indeed, I doubt that's going to happen again soon.
