Not much difference then apart from the fact that Pardew and Allardyce spent a sh!t ton of money and we still nearly got relegated.

As you say. Allardyce left because he didn't get backed. Roy has been backed less.

Precisely.

One can compare the statistics with regard to our recent managers and draw conclusions from them but stats sometimes don't tell the whole story.

At the end of the day Hodgson with hardly any backing at all in the transfer market has done a sterling job and his priority is to ensure we remain in the PL.Indeed we are a hard watch but Hodgson is a vastly experienced manager and the organisation and discipline he has instilled in the team has been pivotal to our survival.

Supporters of course would yearn a more expansive game but Hodgson clearly believes with the players at his disposal the style he has imposed is best suited to remaining in the PL.

Excellently put.

On my way back from the game watched from a perch high up overlooking Newcastle. From that vantage point you get an excellent view of the whole pitch and movement of the players off and on the ball.
We actually played some pretty good football today against a poor side, sadly it was just our inadequate finishing that let us down. We attacked much more than usual and worked the ball through midfield albeit a bit too slowly at times.
When they scored the result of sloppy marking from a throw in Wilf blew his top and to be honest I don't blame him, just shows he cares. We definitely deserved at least a point.

Midfield quartet of Luka Macca McCarthy and Kouyate apart from pens have scored a grand total of zero goals between them. Therein lies the problem

True, but with our wage cap, plus being realistic about our position / expectation in the league, it doesn’t stretch logic to understand our midfield will be geared toward the defensive for the foreseeable. Anything else (unless we get more license with a higher wage cap - see new main stand/more cash flow) is fantasy.

Clearly Roy doesn't like creative players he just likes the ageing defensive midfield Roy said after the game that he didn't see the point of putting on Meyer
1. He changed the game on Monday Roy
2. Rest players like McArthur with all the games comeing up maybe .If he doesn't on Boxing Day then he's clearly lost the plot

I was there and on a f***ing long coach journey home now.
We did batter them and at 400 meteres away you see it a lot better.
Roy f***ed up with his subs.
Not the first time, not the last.
I would have taken a bore draw but we were so much on top he should have pushed on.
I'm still on the fence tbh.

Hodgson had obviously settled for the 0-0, and then they scored

Agreed. Meyer should have come on far earlier. Changed the game against Brighton - mainly because he drew a player away from Zaha

Makes all the difference

Roy is getting those benefit isn't he every one of those signings that Sam did is still at the club even first team starters every week when fit.

SO you could say he didn't need to spend for his type of football

Sam even said that isn't acceptable to keep playing like that he did it to just keep us up next season was going to be different story but he left and rightly so.

Today was poor calls from Roy again games like this are their for the taking and with the run of games should be trying fresh legs.

I don't trust current setup to spend any money.

Regarding Benteke no one said he can only play heading game but that is his strength and having the guy playing the wing is just so wrong.
