Connor Wickham totally immense when he came on today, we would've been bashing that barn door all night and all day tomorrow without him, all he has to do is stay fit and we will have no striker problems whatsoever.

Even before his injury Connor Wickham was pretty average. Scored 17 in 108 Premier League matches. So even if fit, don't expect more than 2-3 moments like this in a season from him.

For a team like Palace to keep Benteke and Wickham beyond this winter....is something I can't understand. Center forward is maybe the most important position in the team. Without goals, we'll soon be fighting relegation

He played in a very poor Sunderland team, mostly out of position. His goal scoring record per game isn't bad at all. 1 in 67 minutes this season, 1 in 170 minutes last season. 1 in 200 minutes the year before.
2015/16 he got 5 in 15 starts. 2013/2014 5 in 15 appearances.

If only he wasn't injured ALL the time.

..and I remember him scoring twice at West Brom and then doing the same at Sunderland, it was either in between after or before that he scored another so five in three games! ....then he injured himself again that was the last time he actually played a few games on the bounce.
He is definitely good enough if able.

Man....you can't make a goalscoring record from 200 minutes played. You have to wait a greater period than that. There could pass another 1.000 minutes until he scores again.

We scored the goal that relegated them down to the Championship.

Hodgeson has been great for Palace.....and to play attacking attractive football you need the players....and for that you need the money and a seriously good coach.

People need to accept that Palace have been punching above our weight for years.....there are plenty of clubs with better grounds and clubs with higher attendances than us in the Championship.

Yep, Let's not forget that this is our longest ever stint in the top division. Let's also remember Salvation Sunday at Hillsborough and why that was necessary (points deduction etc.)
I'm content if we can keep surviving (hopefully more comfortably this year) whilst we build up resources, including the academy.
You mention Stoke - a current example is Wet Spam who seem to have recognized that their ambitions were misplaced and who will now be thankful if Moysie can keep them up.

Roy is not performing miracles.
He's sucking the life out of the club.

We've got a team that can stay up fairly comfortably. We should have got 6 points from the last 3 games, but he stuck everyone behind the ball and we came away with 2.

He's got a well organised side, but individual skill levels seem to be deteriorating, too much pressure on our star player.

With the tactics, training, and refusal to play certain players it's no wonder that players we have want to leave, and player recruitment is difficult.

Words fail me!

Totally agree, I think Roy and the team are doing tremendously well and deserve great credit,
but what this thread is about is how we avoid crashing and burning in the future like Sunderland, Bolton, Ipswich, Portsmouth...and now Stoke.
Also are we making enough of our prem goldmine and delivering a worthwhile legacy for the future. For me, that is more important than all the debates about the team. It wont last forever and I want something to show for it so that, eventually, we can become that premier league club that we all want.
