Living as I do over 100 miles north of London I don't get to see the U23s or U18s, so I can't say I've seen any of the players BUT With the U23 side bottom of their league (comprised mainly of the equivalents from lower leagues) and our U18s in mid-table, there doesn't seem to be a promising source of new talent coming through at present (perhaps the odd 1 or 2.

Furthermore, with a senior squad with little resale value (apart from Wilf) we are between a rock and a hard place

Thoughts?

Regarding Hodgson, I think the real test will be if he gets the 3/4/5 players he has alluded to in interview, and how he integrates them into a (hopefully) more attack minded game.

We have an ageing squad and I believe this year we will have 9 outfield players in their 30s.

A significant rebuilding job will be required over the short and medium term and without adequate funding it could be a very challenging time for the club.
Hodgson has done an admirable job considering the backing he has had in the transfer market and he will not be at the club for too much longer. So a period of change at the club.I am reminded of the Irving Berlin song lyrics "There may be trouble ahead".We could well be sailing in pitchy seas.

it seems the Americans don't want to pay for the new stand, until we find someone who does we just have to keep scrapping, but we won't have enough funds for the squad in the interim so the squad will become obsolete and expensive over time and that can lead to relegation and double relegation. crunch is coming probably sooner than you may think imho

not necessarily - it might be a good outcome in the short term, get rid of expensive duds and get the right replacements and we're good for a while but if we don't have a good Jan we may hit the buffers a bit too early for comfort - and I wouldn't fancy this squad in the championship
