Can't see him choosing to come to Palace. Not sure if any of the 'Big 6' would be interested, so, if not Leeds, then perhaps Wolves, who may need to replace Jimenez.

The most 'solid' link that seems to be around is with Mateta, with indications from Dazza (in whom I trust!) that Doug is in Mainz trying to pin down a deal....fingers crossed and all that!

Interesting suggestion. Maybe too attack minded for Roy. Rumoured to be off to Qatar unless he gets a better offer.

A signing I'd like to see but given we have the 9th highest wage bill in the league, I can't see us making more than one major signing this window unless there is a mass exodous of players.

Especially, when you consider that the 8 teams with higher wage bills are City, United, Liverpool, Everton, Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea, Leicester.

To be spending more than the likes of Newcastle, West Ham and Southampton we must be at the complete top end of what we can afford. I'm suprised we do spend more on wages than them. They must have a stratergy of spending more their budgets on transfer fees for overpriced flops instead of player wages.

Without gate receipts its going to be even harder to sustain our wage bill, making it more likely for us to be left behind in the transfer market.

If we get rid of Zaha or Benteke we will be left increadibly short in their possitions. It would be unwise to move them on unless a replacement is bought in first.

Personally, due to age and strengh in depth in their possitions I think McArthur, Cahill, and Dann should be the players we should look to offload. Probably should put a tin hat on about the Cahill call as he is still a first team player at the moment, but if you can't guarentee a full season out of a player the club will be better off invsting their money in other positions were we are short. We'ed get by with Tompkins, Sakho, Kelly, Kayoute, Ferguson, Reidewald, Luka, Woods, and Innis (even Jach).

I’d invite offers for Sakho and Kouyate before selling Cahill and McArthur!

Seriously? Woods, Innis and Jach are quite simply no where near good enough.

Cahill showed last season, in my opinion, that he is quite clearly the best defender at the whole club. He was outstanding. I can’t remember the amount of times pundits asked why Arsenal didn’t go for him after his displays for palace. He makes Sakho look bang average...and again in my opinion Sakho is behind Cahill, Tomkins and Dann when they are all fit because his form has been atrocious.

We should get rid of Sakho at the first opportunity. I also think it’s time we let Benteke go. We should sell Wickham.

Those are the 3 players I’d focus on moving on in the hope that each can be replaced by current squad players or new players.

I am with you on outing Sakho, Benteke and Wickham regardless of the financial implications asap. I did like Sakho at first but with every injury comes an even more reckless approach to defending and we just cannot afford that attitude.
Benteke speaks for himself - a centre forward who couldn't score in a house of ill repute!

This. And why on earth would we get rid of Jimmy Mac- he’s been our most consistent and reliable player for about 4 years! I’d be selling Luka before him to be honest- seems to have lost his passing and intensity over the last 9 months or so

He’s being given a chance out on loan isn’t he? Should help in his development. I don’t think he should be named as a player that can genuinely be considered a squad player just yet. That’s just my opinion of him presently.

Innis and Jach...I don’t think any amount of loans will get them to the desired ability. Innis looks way too slow for anything above league two.

Of course Innis, and Jach arent serious. I even put Jach in brackets to help you out. Just trying to drum home how many players we have in that position.

If someone comes in with a decent offer for Sakho we should let him go. But I'd rather let Cahill and/or Dann go, because of they are 33 and Sakho is 30. Really it depends on who other clubs are looking to buy.

Similarly, if Kouyate goes it wont be worth worrying to much about.

McArthur is now 32. He's been a great servants and I admire his effort, but he won't last forever. Similarly if one or two of Meyer, Reidewald, Kouyate, McCarthy go it wont be too bad for the club. Again it depends on who wants our players. Age is the driving factor for me.

Benteke, Wickham, even Ayew wouldnt be a big loss. I still have some hope that we might get a new manager in who might play to Benteke or Wickham's strength at some point next season, actually making use of £40m worth of combined investment. But if Benteke goes, it would leave us with no out and out striker and we'll get stung if we dont already have a replacement set up.

The problem with a lot of supporters is that whilst they are crying out for investment. They also kick up a huge fuss if a fringe player or two have to leave to free up the wage bill.

I rate Sam Woods quite highly personally.
