England....the nation that gives, gives and gives.....until no one gave a f**k.

Nothing to do with Muslims at all. That’s you bringing that stuff up. Purely down to population.

Your original post pointed out that the UK have a smaller percentage of tree coverage than most other European countries. These other countries also in general have a far lower density of population than ours, far, far lower in some cases. The UK is very heavily populated. Hence little room for trees.

Sorry the facts do not fit with your political persuasions.

To repeat. There is no shortage of space for tree growth. It’s just not a priority. Nor is it perceived as valuable in the uk. The low number of trees has nothing to do with population. These are the facts, not some fantasy about immigration.

Frigging hell, even the trees are foreigners.

We have imported at that level for centuries.

You have no grasp on reality. Farming is going to reduce spectacularly over the next few years.

But hey, I am so pleased this turned into a thread on immigration. Again. As usual. Why don’t you go back to the politics area and leave general alone

Birch trees have thin whip like twigs. These flail around in the wind and destroy the leaves of any nearby competing broad leafed tree.

To say that the lack of trees has nothing to do with population is staggering. Truly staggering. Go to France and you can drive for hours without hardly seeing a soul. Even our country lanes are busy!

There have been some idiotic posts on here over the years, but congratulations, you have just won!

I genuinely can’t make out if you are of low intelligence or just refuse to believe things that don’t sit with your political beliefs. Either way you are wrong.

How reassuring for you.

Besides, while I have no issue with the basic idea, more trees are hardly going to cut it.

We simply have too many people here.

There is loads of space to plant trees. Just haven't had the will and funding to do so.

I was amused in the run up to the recent election by the three main parties all trying to outdo each other with the number of trees that they would plant if elected.

I was hoping that Boris or Jeremy's election slogan would be "I've got wood"

Let's try again for the hard of thinking

Deforestation largely happened 3,000 years ago. Perhaps it was linked to immigration at that time - if you like and it makes you happy to blame immigration.

Britain is full of scrubland suitable for reforestation. Other countries have put effort in over centuries to reforest, Germany being a good example

Maybe I am thick as you say. If that is the case, so is HM Government and all relevant scientists.

Next time you assert I am thick, kindly give me the science that proves it.

To be clear, population has an effect but it isn't the reason - that springs from 3,000 BC and WW1. Recent deforestation by contrast is on a far more minor scale and has been driven primarily by road and electricity pilon building rather than housing.

You worry about trees being planted here which on a global scale is insignificant and yet you don't worry about our tiny island being overrun by vast numbers of migrants.

I call that clueless.

So much for complaining about other people's politeness Maple.

What you participate in you accept.....So perhaps your highhandedness can be more grounded in future.
