He said it because there is no hope of this happening. He has said he wants to go back to Spain, ridiculous to suggest he may consider joining Palace even if we could afford him. We have more chance of signing Bob Hope.

I hope you are right but in the past we have agreed deals only for other clubs to gazump us, West Ham will now know exactly what they need to do. I wont be cheering until he signs.
